Where do I send the unit in for service (factory)

I'm sorry, but I would need more information about the specific unit you are referring to in order to provide an accurate answer. Generally speaking, the manufacturer's website or customer support line should have information on where to send a unit for service. You can also try searching for the nearest authorized service center or dealer using the manufacturer's website or a search engine. If you can provide me with more details about the unit, including the brand and model number, I may be able to provide more specific guidance.

I have a dodge pickup 5.7 liter engine and I put a escort 8500 in it and whenever I accelerate it goes off

"Goes off" as in shuts off or provides an audible / visual radar alert? Are you connected to the cigar lighter / battery; or a wire you believe to be 13.8VDC? Check the voltage of the wire you are using to power the 8500 with a VOLTMETER. You may be connecting the data bus wire in the vehicle instead of a 13.8VDC source. Move the wire to a 13.8VDC source.

Got a ticket, passport never made a sound

You may have received a laser hit or a qucik shot on the radar. We don't normally keep the radar on constant - a click of the button sometimes real fast will grab your speed, lock on the display and then the signal will cease to omit.
You may also want to check to see if you are set on city of highway.

It says need to calibrate

Follow the direction of the radar detector. Usually you push the button sequence for calibrate and you drive the car in two circles so it can calibrate the compass.

Escort 8500 radar detector

Service Required means that your 8500 has repeatedly failed while attempting to calibrate its radar antenna. This can be fixed by Escort for free if your RD still is in warranty. There is a service fee if your RD is out of warranty, but at least Escort will fully test everything in addition to repairing your 8500, and they will upgrade your 8500's firmware to whatever their latest and greatest firmware is which may help to improve sensitivity, reduce false alerts, or to detect newer laser gun models.

Goes off frequently with no radar nearby

False alarms are common with most radar detectors. You may need to adjust your detector's settings to compensate for the interference that sets off the alarm. Check your user's manual for instructions on using the menu.

My radar detecor has connection problem. Its not

The problem with your Escort radar is the charging port. It is slacked and need to be replaced. That is why, when you are connecting your charger to it, you have to adjust it to get the proper fitting. Once you plug in a charger into any device over a period of time, it tends to loosen grip and contacts bit by bit It can take years to arrive at the slack point.
SOLUTION: First try cleaning the contacts/charging port, if that does not solve the problem, then it means replacing the contacts/charging port is the last resort.
Complements of the season to you over there. .

"Service required" means that the detector failed the self test when it was powered on. You need to call Escort at (800) 964-3138 and see if they are able to repair it. Unfortunately, this is not a DIY and you need to call Escort for the same.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.
