What is rooting and how can I root my Android smartphone?

Rooting ...allows you to make bianary changes to your phone you wouldn't normally have access to for your phones protection. You can change your fonts, and many other core settings. Befor making any changes be sure to make a backup of all your phones settings and core bianary's using a good backup program so you can resort back to these or reinstall a core program if there's a problem. Be carefull to the changes that you make because : you can render you phone unusable or it can get stuck in "bootloop". This will make your phone useless! Be sure to read up on all modifications before attempting to do this. A good website to do this is xda.developers.com

Booting Most Android into Recovery Mode (Hard Resetting)

Usually you can boot into recovery mode by following these steps:
  • Turn off you device.
  • Then, reboot by pressing the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously.
  • Keep the buttons pressed for a short while - a few seconds - and then release the same.
  • The recovery mode menu should be displayed.
  • Note: on Samsung branded devices the recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Power, Volume Up and Home buttons at the same time.
But if the procedure from above isn't working for your Android device, then use one of the following methods (the first one is for rooted handsets so be careful and try not to mess things up as you can end up in bricking your smartphone / tablet).

Cricket huawei manual

The easiest way I can think of to input a new password is to do a factory reset on your phone. I must warn you that a factory reset WILL ERASE ALL DATA NOT ON A MEMORY CARD, so bear that in mind if a few pictures go missing. If you don't have a memory card, then I don't know what else to tell you. To do a factory reset, you must first load in to the bootloader. This is done by making sure the phone is fully powered off. Instead of turning it on normally, hold down your volume up+down keys as you hold the power button. If done correctly, you should see a screen with the little google android laying on his back with a panel open on his front side, a bunch of technical stuff at the bottom, and a big green box pointing to the power key, or something similar. Navigate to "RECOVERY MODE" by presing the volume keys, and select it by pressing the power key. From there, you should be able to navigate the menus the same way to get to Factory Reset. Once again, all data not on memory card WILL be erased. If done properly, your phone -should- now boot as if this were the first time you've ever turned it on. Because you're on Android, once you put in your e-mail address, your contacts should automatically be restored to your phone, and whatever apps you downloaded should automatically begin downloading themselves once more once you've connected to wi-fi. Information such as text messages, however, will still be lost, as well as any other data stored on the phone's internal storage rather than the memory card. I hope this helps.

Phone says not enough storage

You may need to manually move some of the larger apps to SD storage. Keep in mind that some apps are not compatible with this. Go to settings > apps > move to SD card. Also, some apps will not perform as well if you move them to an SD card because it is slower NAND flash then what the phone uses internally.

How do I fix my talk to text feature?

The "Cannot Connect" message indicates that your device is not able to access the internet, either through your cellular service provider (ie. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) or through a Wi-Fi router if you happened to be connected to one. You must have a data plan in order to gain access through your provider. Also check the settings on your phone to make sure you are connecting to a Wi-Fi if you happen to have access to one at home or work place.

Rooted Huawei Vitria is boot stuck on metro logo screen. need recovery flash

Try searching XDA or AndroidAuthority for the recovery image you need. I assume you rooted it, but if not: To flash the recovery you need to enter recovery mode, usually this is done by holding "Volume Down" & "Power" at the same time until the logo appears, then release the "Volume Down" button. Once in recovery if it's not a touch recovery, you use the volume keys to navigate up and down, and the power button to accept your selection. Just click the option that says to install from zip, then choose your zip file for the recovery and you're golden.
