Pull up the menu and see if it looks normal, if it doesn't chances are you have panel issues and it's not repairable, if menu looks ok it could be either the main or tcon, replace the tcon first as it's much less costly

Question edited for clarity and spelling. The red light on your television is nothing to do with the remote, it is just a standby light. It is a small red LED. The most likely issue is the batteries in the remote. Here is a trick. Use a smartphone with a front facing selfie camera. Point the remote at the phone and press any of the buttons. On the camera screen you should see the sensor on the front of the remote blink red. If it doesn't, change the batteries and try again.
