Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 Deskstar 7K1000C SATA2 3GbS 1TB 7200rpm 32MB 0F10383 High Quality SATA II Hard Drive Questions & Answers
How do I get Windows 7 to reconize my Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 HDD?
if it does not see the hard disk on installation or otherwise..it means you do not have the ahci (or raid ) driver installed ..and the laptop is set to run in this mode..but was installed without them ..the easy fix is go to bios ..look for the hard drive ,. and disable the ahci function for it ..and let it work on sata as ide ..or ide compatible ..or something like that ..anyway but not ahci ..save settings with F10 and restart and if you have a working windows on it ..it will boot proper and that's all ..if you do not have the windows..you can now install it further ..The other option is to install windows from a usb flash ., and use the drivers disk in the drive ..and when it gets to the point where you select the partition ..it will ask for 3rd party drivers and you can select them on the disk and install ..or it will take them auto ..and this way you will have an installation of windows with the ahci function on ..and will be a little faster have a nice day and don't hesitate to ask for future guidance ..please rate my answer ..

I purchased my old computer
Hi there.
Since your hard drive is a SATA drive, there is no such thing as master and slave drive anymore.
All you need to do is plug it into your new computer (assuming there is an extra slot for a hard drive in there). You will need an extra plug from your power supply that will plug into the hard drive as well as a SATA cable that will plug your hard drive into the motherboard.
Another thing you can do is get an external hard drive enclosure and put it in that. Just make sure you get a SATA one, not an IDE one. I hope this helps.

Hitachi 50hyt62u H
can I add a removable drive as I have a slot in Back for one, and if so where do I get one
You should be able to buy an external USB drive (or thumb drive) at any electronics store.
You can connect a USB hard disk drive or USB
memory stick to your TV by using the USB inputs of
the TV. This feature allows you to play files stored in
a USB drive. 2.5" and 3.5" inch (hdd with external
power supply) external hard disk drives are supported.
IMPORTANT! You should back up your files before
making any connections to the TV set in order to
avoid any possible data loss. Manufacturer will not
be responsible for any file damage or data loss. It is
possible that certain types of USB devices (e.g. MP3
Players) or USB hard disk drives/memory sticks may
not be compatible with this TV.
Quickly plugging and unplugging USB devices, is a
very hazardous operation. Do not repeatedly quickly
plug and unplug the drive. This may cause physical
damage to the USB player and USB device itself. Do
not pull out USB module while playing a file.
Media Browser Menu
You can play photo, music, and movie files stored
on a USB disk by connecting it to your TV and using
the Media Browser screen. To do this, perform the
following: Connect a USB disk to one of the USB
inputs located on the side of the TV.
You can connect two USB devices to your TV. If both
USB devices include music, picture or video files, USB
selection OSD will be displayed on the screen. The
first USB device connected to the TV will be named
as USB Drive1. Select a device by using up or down arrows
and press OK

My Hitachi XL500 external hard drive is not showing anywhere on my computer. I also do not believe any power is getting through to my hard drive. Please help
buried in endless spam are you.
does it fail on 2nd PC????????????????????????????
but yes, I am the MVP of external HDD< I build my own.
Have over 5 here for Backups .
lots of causes, for sure bad drive, or missing drivers..
bad HW hardware or BAD software SW.
Missing 12vdc 2amp power pack>, lost or using wrong one.
when pack above does the HDD spin? usb connected to PC.
NO PC stated, NO OS stated, windows/chrome/Linux/android?
its at lease 10 years old , see posts back that far.
not good old HDD,this old.
sold during W7 era. 2009.
The drive has 3.5" HDD that needs lots of power (Amps)
to start up that big motor inside, and is first thing to learn .
2amps it needs, ok? so if pack is missing it will never startup
on any USB port, not rated for 20x standard USB load factors.
some laptops only do 0.1amps (100mA) and are useless to startup any hdd motor of any kind.
see why here.
and see a better extremal solution cheap.! $10
