Recovering a dead TP-LInk Router
My router Archer C7, stop working suddenly. No flashing LEDs, cannot connect to it. Use the serial connection to the UART, and found it stops at the boot up stage, cannot find the apps to run......
Found the flash on the board, and put pressure on the flash IC. The unit comes up again and working.......
Put some flux on the flash pins, and run a hot solder across the pins. All working now.
My problem is dry joint of the flash. Others may have corrupted software and the serial connection will be a great help.

Change router password
LOST ROUTER LOGIN PASSWORD
If you have forgotten your personal router login password there is no way to recover it. You will have to reset the router. This means all the settings on the router will be reset to factory defaults. It also means that all your connected devices will need to be connected again with the new security information (WEP, WAP, etc,) . You will need the default admin login name and the default admin password. This can be found in the user guide that came with the router. This can usual be found online at the router manufacturers site.
There is usually a button or a switch hidden in a pinhole opening on the back of the router. Pressing and holding the switch for 10 seconds or so will cause the reset and usually the LEDs will flash and blink for several seconds as the router firmware sestets and clears out the old information.
If you are trying to get into someone else's router illegally there is no way to find out their login password.
For future reference, write the password down, or a hint at what the password is, on a piece of tape and secure it on the bottom of the router. I use my cell phone memo function to store all my passwords.

What is my WPA Key
It is on your router and is used to pair with a new Bluetooth device. Most are easy to find but my Belkin hides it in plain sight by placing it on a tiny tab next to the pilot light.

What is the WPA Key
The WPA key is the passphrase or key that is entered into the router to make the wireless connection secure. No one will be able to access the wireless net work unless they know the WEP key when they try to connect to the wifi netowrk.
