Automatic needle threader stuck

You may have a thread stuck in your bobbin area. Remove your bobbin, brush gently with a clean soft brush to remove dust and/or thread bits, then gently wiggle your hand wheel back and forth, and brush again. This should free up your machine.

Could you be bumping it while sewing? Have someone watch while you sew. Otherwise, assuming this is a newish machine, I'd complain to Janome customer service and tell them it's been in for repair 3x and you'd like a replacement machine. You may need to be persistent, but I would definitely ask for that if I were in your shoes.

Does janome sewist 500 sewing machine need oiling? The manual does not say anything about it.

probably has wicks then thatthe mechanic will lubricate during service. the manual will probably say to have it serviced annually and to brush out the bobbin area often. this is important as lint will build up.

My bobbing thread keeps jamming

Make sure you are putting the bobbin in right side up. Some times it will do this if your needle size is incorrect to the fabric weight.

My Janome Sewist 500 is making me crazy. The

that sounds like the top tension dial is not working, causing looping on the underside so start by cleaning out the top tension device. To do this, unthread, turn tension to zero, then "Floss" between the discs with the selvage edge of a clean piece of waste fabric. If some black gunk comes out onto the fabric, then refloss on a fresh edge until its clean. Then reset tension to 4 or 5 and thread up again until just before the needle. Now lower the pressure foot to engage the tension device and pull the top thread downwards - it should feel firm. If this is not happening, then I'd go the serviceman next. These things have a spring in and it may have broken.I think the bobbin tension is probably okay so just reset that back to what it was, the straight line on the bottom is because the top thread is not being drawn back up by the take up lever on the upwards stroke due to insufficient tension on the top thread.Hopefully cleaning the tensioner works though. Good luck.

My Janome 300e screen is frozen on the info page (Main Ver.1.00-K-001Y, Slave Ver.001, DCI Ver.1.06) Can I reset it?

  1. Power Off: Turn off your machine completely. Make sure it's not just in standby mode but completely powered down.
  2. Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the outlet. Wait for about 10-15 seconds to ensure all power is drained from the machine.
  3. Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the outlet.
  4. Power On: Turn on your Janome 300e and see if the screen is responsive now.
If the issue persists even after performing a reset, there might be a more significant problem with the machine's software or hardware. In such cases, it's advisable to contact Janome customer support or a certified technician for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting steps or recommend servicing the machine.

Janome 350E Sewing Machine. I am getting a message telling me to raise the presser foot and needle bar then turn off the machine. After doing all that the message is still there? What can I do?

Are you having any problems moving the needle bar with the hand wheel? Make sure that the presser foot is up and the needle bar is fully up. Then redo the top threading for the machine. Try unplugging the machine and blowing any loose debris out of the needle bar area. (I'd suggest compressed (canned) air or equivalent to minimize excess moisture in the electronics.) Also check if the machine gives the same message with the presser foot and needle down on restart. If the problem persists, then the issue is likely to be a faulty control board. I don't know if any sewing machine repair technicians still have spare boards. They aren't on the in stock parts at two vendors that I know. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

I have a Janome model 577 (I know it's old!!) and

If the top tension is on 0 I suspect the problem begins in the bobbin, make sure first of all the bobbin is turning anti clockwise in the bobbin case, when you pull the thread through the bobbin case there should be slight resistence, if it is too loose turn the screw on the bobbin case clockwise about a quarter of a turn to tighten, if it is not making muh difference you may have fluff stuck under the spring on the bobbin casem take a fine sewing needle and slide it under the spring to see if you can get any fluff out, top tension about 4 or 5

Can I download embroidery editor from janome site instead of downloading from cd

You can download the Artistic Designer program from Janome, https://www.janome.com/products/software/ . However, it will not work unless you have purchased a license key from a dealer. For other Janome software, only updates for supported software are available: https://www.janome.com/support/general-support/software-support/ . You'll either need the program to have been installed on your computer or to put the CD in an optical disc drive. If your current computer doesn't have an optical disc drive, you can get a USB optical drive from Amazon or any other shop that has electronic/computer parts. USB DVD read/write drives are under $50 even at most shops that don't discount accessories. You may need the USB type C (M) to USB type A (female) adapter with some of the newest models (laptops and tablets). I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the name and version of your software for further assistance. If your software is no longer supported by Janome, there are some third-party embroidery editing software packages. One is https://www.embird.net/ . Cindy Wells

Janome 350E suddenly stopped reading the USB

Your space is not formatted correctly to the size of the hoop. For example if the hoop is 5x7 your design has to fit within that space, and the space cannot be bigger than 5x7. Strange but true and it will fix the reboot and shut down issue.
