Error code 024 on guide
Hi there! My name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to help you. Please perform a hard reset on the receiver. To do a hard reset, you simply unplug the receiver from the power outlet it is connected to, leave it unplugged for 20 seconds, then plug it back in. The receiver reboot process takes about 5 minutes. Once the show is back on, try accessing your DVR again, if it is still not working, the receiver will need to be replaced. If this is still a problem, please feel free to email me at kimberly.escobar2dish.com with your account number so we can get this resolved.

VIP 922 wont start up
David J McClure,I can definitely provide more information on
this. There isn't a way to transfer the hard drive from the old receiver
to the new one, but our HD DVR equipment does have the option of using
an EHD to backup and store recordings. If you are able to get
the old receiver working temporarily, all you need to do is plug in an
EHD and it will ask you to format. Once it is done, you can transfer
recordings to the hard drive for additional storage space, and to back
them up so they can be transferred to a replacement if it is needed. Let
me know if you have any other questions.Tommy FaustDISH Social Media Representative
Dish vip 922 shuts off
Hey Derek Barnes.I would be happy to assist you further with this, I would just need more information to provide an accurate answer. If the receiver is powering off on it's own, try bypassing any surge protectors or power strips and plug directly into an outlet. This will help provide ample power to the receiver. If the receiver is shutting off after a few hours it could be related to "Inactivity Standby" which can changed from 'Menu' -> 'Settings' -> 'Updates'. You can disable it or increase the time for it to happen. It may also be shutting off during the Daily Updates which is found on the same screen. If u can provide more information, let me know here. You can also reach me at

SLINGLOADED RECEIVER TRIPPING OFF
Beverly Gobin,It sounds like the receiver may be power cycling. Try bypassing any power strips or surge protectors and plug directly into a wall and try again. If the problem continues, if possible try another outlet.Send me an email at
[email protected] if the problem continues since the receiver may need to be replaced.Tommy FaustDISH Social Media Representative
Can you use your dish Network remote to control your VCR ?
If the dish network remote control is universal it may work with limited functions. If the remote control has buttons labeled cd, receiver, cable or Aux etc. it might work. The manual will tell you for sure. It will also provide you with the proper code for the component to work.
