How long are you leaving it?
Sometimes when the GPS unit is off for an extended period of time or if it is off and you travel and turn it on when you have travelled somewhere, the GPS needs to take in new information and I have seen it take about 45 minutes or more the first time. Leave it be for a while, once has picked up the satellites the first time, they will come in just as normal all of the following times.

I had that error and when I did a restart (hold in the power button for 10-15 seconds to turn off then again for 10-15 seconds to turn on) the unit restarted fine. Try that.

Don't buy - go to Eagle web site and download it.

Connect your unit up to the PC and run Garmin's webupdater program. It will scan your unit and tell you what updates are available and if you deleted a file, it will allow you to re-download it. You can find the program here: http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27
