Toshiba Satellite M45-S351 Notebook Questions & Answers
Toshiba Satellite M45-S351 BIOS password needs help!
BIOS passwords on Toshiba notebooks have to be reset by an authorized service technician who has the CD available to run the utility. Their notebooks don't contain a battery reset to erase the password. It was done as a safety feature to prevent theft from happening and it is a very good one.
If you take it into Best Buy or a computer dealer to get it done, you might have to prove that you are the new owner of the computer before it can happen.

I accidentaly destroyed my volume wheel while on
Hello!
What operating system?
There should be a volume control icon in your system tray (if it is windows).
If there isn't go to Control Panel-> Audio and there you will find your sound card properties.

Where is the mic on
From all of the documentation that I can find, it appears that it has no built-in microphone, but only a microphone jack in the front of the unit, which is monaural (not stereo).

Hi,
When I try to log
This is normally caused by a virus or bad winlogon file, if you have a windows cd you can boot from the cd and using the recovery options you should be able to run a system restore this will restore the computer to an earlier time and most likly resolve the issue for a while, if it is virus based the core of the virus will still be there and you have to to run a full antivirus system. Hope this helps you

Toshiba Satellite Notebook M45-S351 I recently
Remove thwe new RAM and hard drive. Does it boot to the BIOS menu? If yes, add the hard drive and do the same again then add RAM and do the same.
I suspect something does not fit in properly. Probably the RAM.
Don't forget to initialise the hard drive if trying to format it. The System disk should take care of that.

Backlight turns off after a minute or two. I can
It sounds like there is a loose connection in the area you apply pressure to. If you are confident enough you could open the machine an inspect that area. Any cables you see in that area should be disconnected and then reconnected and taped in place using an insulating tape.
Hope this helps,

I accidentally erased my dvd driver for my toshiba
Option 1: Download the DVD drive from the Toshiba website for free and install it.
Option 2: If you could manage to a get a external DVD drive that can be connected by the USB and use your recovery disk to get a clean install.
The first option would help to fix the problem withouth going for a clean install. But in case you are going for Option 2, then I would recommend you to take necessary backup of all your data.
