How to take apart my toshiba satellite m55-s135

Have some cups with labels on it to hold all the screws so you will know where they came from. Have a digital camera handy to take pictures.Ok, on a laptop you need to get some cups and label them toput the screws in so you will know where they came from. Remove the PowerCord, Remove the Battery then start removing all thescrews from the bottom of the laptop. Then remove all the devices fromthe bottom of the laptop such as the hard drive, the memory, dvd/cd drive, wireless card, etc. Take note of how the wires are on the wireless card, those are the antennas. Look inside the battery case, hard drive case, memory case and dvd drive slotfor screw. Some screws on the bottom case in inside of some of the devicecases might have the icon of a keyboard next to it. Those screws hold thekeyboard in place. Turn the laptop over, remove the strip that is just above the keyboard but becareful because a cable might be attached to it. Then remove the screwsthat hold the keyboard in place that are under where the strip was and gentlylift the keyboard out because there is definitely a cable under it.Next you can remove the screws from the lcd hinges at the corners and lift thelcd screen off, also note that you will have to pull the antennas cable and thelcd cable when you remove the lcd.Next start removing any screws that hold the palmrest in place. Take note ofany cables that are attached to the palmrest and remove them then lift thepalmrest off.Next start removing any screws you see that hold the motherboard to the bottomcase, then lift the motherboard out an start replacing the fan.A digital camera to take pictures will be most helpful to refresh you memory ofwhere things were.

How to reformat toshiba

Do you really want to return your computer to factory settings? Know that this will wipe out everything - your files, documents, software programs you downloaded yourself, etc. So backup accordingly before pressing the reformat button! You will probably find it just to the right of your Start/boot-up button. Good luck!

Toshiba satellite m55-s3315 hard drive password reset

Yikes. I'm not calling you a thief, but 99% of the time when you encounter a computer with a password on the hard drive and the possessor of the computer does not know the password, the computer is stolen.

Laptop beeps4 times but doesn't

In most cases this means bad memory stick. If you are able to, flip over the laptop, find the panel that has the memory under it, unscrew the screw(s) to get the panel off, and pull out the top stick of memory. Flip the laptop back over and power it on. If it works fine again, then that stick was the problem, and you can go buy a replacement and install it back into that slot. If that doesn't fix the issue, turn it off, flip it over, pull the other stick of memory out and put the first stick into that slot. Flip it back upright and turn on again. If that fixes the issue, then the second stick of memory is bad and you can just replace it as well. If neither of those fix the issue please reply on here and we can do further diagnostics.

How to remove hard drive from toshiba satellile

This pictorial guide will help me explain,

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba_Satellite_M55/laptop_motherboard_1.htm

ALL power removed from the laptop. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.
Follow Anti-Static Precautions.

Place a towel, or suitable object on a table, then turn the laptop over, and place on the towel.
If you click on the photo in Step 2 you will see the Harddrive Compartment Cover.

Remove the Philips head screw.
Lift up on the side of the Harddrive Compartment Cover where the screw was.
Remove the cover, lay it aside.

The harddrive plugs into an interface in the Harddrive Compartment.
On the opposite end of the harddrive where it plugs into the interface, should be a single Philips head screw.
Remove the screw.

Use the fabric cloth to gently pull the harddrive away from the interface.
The harddrive may come back only so far, then the end is lifted up to remove the harddrive.
(End opposite of the back of the harddrive where it plugs into the interface)

Use caution as you can accidentally bend pins on the harddrive.

For additional questions, or to clarify what I have stated please post in a Comment.

joecoolvette
