Uniden D1680 Cordless Phone - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Uniden DECT6.0 Model D1680
Problem: Need to change recorded message ,cant get past Security Code_ a 2 digit pin .Forgot what is was..
The only time the Security Code is used is to effect
Remote Access, ie, "call home and manage your
answering machine messages remotely" by pressing
the code numbers while the Greeting is being said....
The Security Code is set on the D1680 from the handset
by this procedure:
press [menu]
scroll to "Ans. Setup"
press [select]
scroll to "Security Code"
press [select]
the code will be displayed, first digit blinking
(enter a new digit if you want to change it )
the code will be displayed, second digit blinking
(enter a new digit if you want to change it )
press [select] (chirp) press [END}
All of the Answering Machine System functions can
be managed remotely, and voice menus are provided
to guide you in these operations.
Entering the model number found on a small sticker under
the battery in the handset at
www.manualslib.com will
fetch a free copy of the User's Manual in case the original
has been misplaced.
Good luck!

Why can't I change code?
With the phone in standby, open the menu; select Ans. Setup, then select Security Code. Use the number keypad to enter a two-digit security code (01 to 99). Press Menu/select when you're finished.

Message light keeps blinking
You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

I have a D1680 system with one accessory handset.
1. Press & hold End and # at the same time until you see the System Reset menu.2. If you still have the base the handset is registered to, select Deregister HS, then select the handset you want to reset. If you don't have that base anymore, select Base Unavailable.3. To confirm, select Yes. The handset displays "Handset not registered"Now you want to register the phone again.1. Place the handset in the base; the display should say Handset Registering.2. Wait until the display says Registration Complete (about 30 seconds), then pick up the handset and press Talk/flash.You should now have a dial tone

Uniden base flashing 88 8
I just got off of the phone with Uniden for the same issue with my D1680-4. The alternating "8" - "88" code is an indication that the base is dead. They will be sending me a new base (and 2 handsets). During the call I learned that if you do not have a receipt, Uniden warrants their phones for up to 15 months. The advertised 12 months, plus 3 months for the product to get from manufacturing, through distribution channel and finally sale to the consumer.
