The e310 can't use USB power to charge through the cradle. (It needs more than USB specs allow.) You have to supply +5v DC to the connector at the cradle or the e310 itself. Positive terminal is the center pin/hole, negative terminal is the outside barrel of the plug.
I have had this charging overnight but it won't
Hello Friend,
It depends on what you mean by charging overnight.
1. When you connect the charger, it shows on the phone that it's charging but after a while if you unplug the charger, it's still not charged: if it's the case, that means the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.
2. When you connect the charger, it doesn't show the phone charging: in this case it can be the charger brocken or the phone charge connector is faulty. you can verify that by moving the charger connector a little bit and see if it will start charging, if not you can try with another charger. if it doesn't charge even with another charger, at this time i will say for sure that the phone charge connector is faulty and needs a repair.

Hi,
It seems that you have overcharge the gadget. Had you unplugged the gadget after full charge? or after indicating full charge also you had not unplugged the gadget. Sometimes overcharging damages the software of motherboard or battery... But from your query, it seems that the in your case Software has been corrupted. So hopefully, after updation of the software your problem should be solved or else you have to get it serviced....
Hope this has helped you...
Thanks.....

Hello,
The unit will not go past the alignment screen until it gets a good calibration alignment. Be sure to click as close to the little + marks with the stylus as you can. If the click is to far from where it thinks it should be then the alignment will fail and start over.
I hope this helps, if not let me know

The also needs to charged using a DC adapter. Not through the USB connection. They can be plugged in using a cradle or directly.
Sd card
The e310 Chipset is SD only, and so does not support SDHC for more then 2GB. You may try non-standard, non-SDHC 4GB cards which are out of specification for SD, but work in "some" SD enabled devices. Depends on device-software...
The Battery will not charge
I do have a manual, but not at work with me. However, I do remember seeing an explanation for a switch that is located on the lower left hand corner of the pda that you would have to use a paper clip to reach. I would wait for someone else to verify, but I suspect this is a hardboot type of reset instead of the button located on back that is accessed via the paper clip. This second switch located on the bottom of the device was a batter disconnect or lock out or something like that.
Just my humble thoughts.
I've done lots with the Ipaq series but not so much with the Toshibas. I helped my 10 year old daughter buy this one used off of ebay with her allowance so we had to go with a low cost pda.

My e310 cannot format my sd card
I had the same "error 31" problem when trying to format a 2 GB SD card. I then tried a 1 GB SD card and it worked fine. I wonder if the device only supports up to 1 GB cards?? I checked the user guide and it does not say one way or the other.
My Toshiba e310 turns on by itself
It could be a piece of software that you have recently installed "activating" your PDA. I had this problem after installing a program that, amongst other things, monitored battery life. Once i uninstalled it it was fine so whether that was just a big coincidence i dont know.
