If your scanner is not compatible with windows 7 the only thing you can try is VueScan. You can find it here: http://www.hamrick.com/

Try the trial version first, so you know if your scanner is supported.

If the drivers did load try rebooting and then scanning from
some TWAIN-enabled software bypassing the scan software .
Download and install http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10673689.html
It's a third party twain program that often works if you can successfully install the obsolete driver .

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers for spare part supplies and Driver downloads (if applicable) as required.
