Pattern unlock
There are 2 solutions for your problem.For the first one you need to have your google account signed in on the phone. 1. Press the forgot pattern?2. Enter the username and passwordf of your account and sign in.3. You will be asked to create a new pattern.Now the solution if you don't have your google account on the phone.1. Remove the batter from the phone and wait couple of seconds.2. Put the batter back in the phone.3. Hold the VOLUME UP key on your phone and turn your phone ON at the same time.4. My htc cannot start
- Make sure your battery is fully charged. Then remove battery, SIM card and any memory card you might have inserted. Clean all the metal (copper) contacts you find on the inside of the battery cover and SIM cover (if any) with methylated spirit on a cotton bud. Replace battery only and try restarting the phone. If successful, turn it off and replace SIM and try turning it on and off. If successful, do the same with the memory card. this can eliminate the problem. If none of the above is successful, you can try a factory hard reset however be mindful that all your data, apps and settings will be deleted and restored to factory state except the stuff you hace on your memory card and SIM, which will not be affected. I guess if you can not restart your phone anyway, there is not much else you can do, so you will only use what is not yours any more... :)
here is what you need to do:
Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
- Hold the Volume Down button
- Press and release the Power button
- You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
- Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
- Press and release the Power button
- Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO.
If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the HTC Desire. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons
If you can't turn HTC ChaCha on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC ChaCha.
- Remove the battery, wait for a few seconds, then reinsert the battery.
- Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
- Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
- Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.
Lock screen
do you have data via your 3g? if you do , you can use your google account to reset the lock pattern. Did you register on google play store?
Too many pattern attempts
the only thing you can do is a Factory Reset which will cause you to lose all your data, pictures, texts etc. Hold the Volume button down and the power button while the phone is on the off position and go to Hard Reset/Factory reset.
