I think the best solution, due that it is a non upgradeable model by the official site, you can unlock and install another software.

I think the battery has failed. so how do i change it please

You can buy a new battery in ebay and replace it. It is very easy: unscrew the four screws and open carefully without sd card(look at the phoneplug and sound roll). You will see the battery with its connectors... same as you bought it.

Navman 510 keeps losing GPS signal too often.

The antenna may be unplugged. You can check by removing the SD card, carefully unscrewing the four screws from the back of the device and then running your fingernail (NOT a screwdriver) around the seam on the case to split the two halves. The antenna is the small panel on the back of the receiver, it plugs into a computer board on the inside of the receiver. Look inside for a gold colored connector, it should be plugged into one of the boards, if it is not then that's your problem, you need to plug it back into the board and you should be in good shape.

Navman icn510 gps reciever problem

How long are you waiting and are you moving while it is trying to acquire signal? These receivers are using older circuitry that may take up to 20 minutes to first acquire a signal from a cold start. If you are moving it may take longer!!! The good news is that after you have initially acquired a location, if you turn the unit off it will only take a minute or so to reacquire after it has "warmed" up.
