Xerox Phaser 7750DN Laser Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Printer is in ready to print mode but not print when document is sent.
Hi Felix,
Again in broad terms.
When you see processing data that could be a sign that the internal processor is trying to make sense of the information you sent to it.
I've seen Xerox printers saying processing data and nothing appears before.
It could be anything from a bad file sent to the printer, that it can't deal with or print because you don't have a PDF license perhaps.
The other helpful thing would be to see if your error sheets have been turned off. I know it is usually a wast of paper but it might be a clue as to why no print appears apter processing your file/print.
Consider this, the printer I have is sat quiet with a window saying ready to print and yet the fuser is quite cold. The only thing that can wake it up is a genuine print. Now if it's cold all the time then you should have a 'Fuser Error'
Again, sorry to be so vague but without being on site it's difficult to get to the bottom of your query.
The local Xerox engineer or concessionaire should be really helpful.
Good luck.

Receive message of out of paper
Pull the paper tray completely out. using a flashlight, look into that section. There should be a black flag hanging down. That is the paper out sensor flag. If it's not hanging down, look at the roof of that section and see if you can find it hung up. If it's there, carefully pull it downward gently. If it's missing, time to call in the technician because the main board is going to have to be opened up to replace that missing part.

Can i swop 2 imaging units round
yes, the imaging units that come with the 7700 series are all similar. however if one is failing swapping them will not make the problem go away, it might actually make it worse. taking out the imaging units can reduce their life span. the photo imaging strata on the rollers are very light sensitive and should not be exposed to light for more than 5 minutes. best practice is to turn a black garbage bag inside out and while removing old ( or new) unit make sure the unit goes into bag with little to no light exposure!

How to change developer beads
I have the complete 9 page instructions with images if you want I can e-mail them to you. Here is a snippet explaining just the portion of the beads. (email me at
[email protected] for complete instructions). Also, if you purchase the developer beads from iteminc.com they will include the instructions
"
1. Place the developer housing assembly (new or used) to be recharged on a drop
cloth.
Caution
During this procedure, the developer housing assembly must be kept level at
all times. To prevent toner spillage, it is recommended that the developer
housing assembly be fully supported level by laying it on something like a
large piece of cloth, paper towels or styrofoam hollowed out for the
developer housing assembly to lie on. If new, remove the protective cover
over the magnetic roller. Do not touch the magnetic roller.
Note
The wires are routed under and behind the right snap tab.
2. Release the snap tabs at each end of the developer housing assembly and remove
the assembly cover.
3. Agitate the package of developer mix and then cut it open. Carefully pour the
entire contents of developer mix as evenly as possible over the two augers. Do
not let the developer mix accumulate heavily on the roller. Keep the developer
housing assembly level.
4. Reinstall the cover making sure that the rear tabs are all engaged in their
respective slots while positioning the wire harness under the snap tab. Press
firmly until you hear a positive "snap" sound for each tab indicating each snap
tab is securely fastened.
5. Tear off the ATC sensor perforated tag. Do NOT remove the ATC sensor label
from the developer housing.Peel off the protective backing, and adhere the label
to the appropriate or corresponding Imaging Unit Plate. Make sure the ATC
sensor tag label can be located if needed later.
6. Record the number for entering into NVRAM in the next step.
7. Perform the ATC Sensor Setup procedure."

Prints yellow all over paper after changing out
Try swapping out the yellow imaging unit with another color, such as cyan. Print out several test pages, if it continues to dump yellow toner then it is probably a bad developer. If it changes to cyan then it is a bad image unit. If you need another image unit the part# is 108R00581, you can
buy a rebuilt one here to save you money. If you suspect it is a bad developer you may want to take your printer to get repaired because it is not an easy fix. Hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa!

Can i reset the imaging
There is a chip in the bottom of the image unit which stores the image unit life. These can be reset but it requires special hardware and software to do it. You can also buy replacement chips, they're usually about $50 for a 4 pack and you can find them on e-bay. Rechipping with out replacing the entire image unit will result in lower quality prints though.
