I don't think so. I have had this problem when I'm using a thicker paper and the paper type is set wrong in the printer.

The printer seems to adjust something based on what paper you say is printing. Try pulling the paper out of the printer, then re-inserting it and then choosing a different paper type - one closer to what you are using - or choose the "special" paper type.

This should solve your problem.

There is a spring on the waste section of the imaging unit that often pops off. When that happens it will not clear the replace imaging unit message. There is also a software patch on Xerox.com. Takes some searching to find.

Seems to be something to do with the Ram.

I just had the same problem... I gently bent out the double-forked copper contacts on either side of the underside of the lid top (they're flattened, two pronged with a small dimple in each bend), and that fixed the problem. Be careful not to break them off... I'm sure that would cause a much bigger headache.

Those look like a problem with the imaging unit. It probably is not able to be seen by a visible inspection.
That spacing between stripes look like the diameter of the drum.
Spacing looks right.

When you take the toner cartridge off the imaging unit, is there magenta toner in the open slot of the IU? Assuming that there is nothing wrong with the toner cartridge, you are possibly looking at a bad engine control board.

Sounds like the yellow imaging unit it defective to be honest. I know its new, but may be bad out of the box.

Dear "mmmom" if your OS is Windows go to control panel, click on printers and fax icon, now go to setting of your printer (right mouse key on it) and set it to black and white. Now your printer is always set to black and white and for color printing you have to set printer to color from application (word, excel,...) you are using.

I find that I only get paper jams when I don't have the correct paper selected, i.e. plain, light card, glossy. The printer really does expect you to have the right one selected on the screen as is loaded in the tray.

When you get a jam, carefully open the designated location and make sure you remove all pieces of the paper.

That does look like a bad magenta drum, But let me look up some other items and I will get back to you.

If you are comfortable taking apart your machine you could probably do it. The part can be ordered from a reseller online. The service manual for how to do it can also be downloaded from online sources. The service manual does not make a recomendation for any calibrations after replacing this part. Although a standard color calobration never hurts. But for the cost of the part, and one to two hundred bucks, you could get it fixed by a Certified Xerox Service Provider that will guarantee their work.

Have you perform print test page? if yes does it exhibit the same symptom?
I suggest you reset the printer as below before perform the print test page.
Reset as below
1. remove any power supply from the printer including the power cord from the main socket.
2. Leave it for about 35 minutes
3. Plug in the power cord again and turn on.

sounds like a bad cyan developer housing. Or that somehow the housing has come out of its mounting, but I cant think how that would happen. There are some rails in the machine that may have also come loose.
You have to remove the IBT ( transfer) assembly to look into that.

Tekcolor correction should take care of that.

That is an issue called a regicon adjustment that is off.
You really have to have a laptop hooked up and the regicon set up. May need the laser kicked a few knotches to get it back in alignment.
The setup itself tells you how many clicks to move the laser.
