You can remove the left side cover and gently rotate the process drive until the kit lowers and releases.

How do you fix error

The error is normally caused by the print head wiper being stuck to the print head or the print head pivot block being contaminated with spill over ink.
To clean the block you remove the left side cover. There is a stainless steel block about 1 inch by 1 inch about midway back on the lower frame. It would most likely have a lot of yellow ink in it.
If the wiper blade is tacked to the print head, you would remove the right and left cover. then remove the ink loader. ( where you place the ink sticks.). Once you remove the ink loader you are in the print head drum area and would gently detack the blade from the print head, then run the eliminate light stripes in the troubleshooting menu.

Printing PDF on 8400

I've ran across this a few times and the only thing that ever seemed to help was turning of print spooling so it would print direct to the printer. It ties up the computer while it prints but it does work. Usually in other programs when you see this kind of error the proper printer hasn't been selected or the paper size is wrong or the file being printed is corupt.

Regular paper Jams at front Roller

Yeah. The registgration clutch has failed. Very common.
If you go to Xerox.com. Click on support and drivers. Then enter 8400 in the box. I believe you then want to select documentation. There is a complete parts list on the site for the 8400. The registration clutch is on the left side of the machine toward the bottom front of the machine.
It isn't all that expensive, I think less than $40 and when you get it, let me know, It is very easy to replace. Even if you have never done it before I would say it would take less than 20 minutes.
I can almost 100 percent guarantee that.
The only other thing to check, since the cleaning page comes out, Is be 100 percent sure the paper SIZE is correct on BOTH the machine and on the print driver settings. It is possible that the size setting is off causing the machine to shut down thinking there is a paper jam due to the wrong size paper it is expecting to see.

Drum heater lamps

All you really have to do is go to any store that sells halogen lamps and purchase 2,, 150 watt halogen bulbs. That is what the drum heaters are.
I can send you instructions on how to replace them.
[email protected]
I would suggest, if you can find them. Sylvania halogens rated for 130 volts with vibration protection.
If you cant, thats fine, they just seem to not fail.
But any 150 watt halogen will work.

I have light vertical stripes on a dark picture

Have you checked the maintenance kit? Is the white roller badly contaminated? The mylar blade dirty?
If that is ok, then you may have a bad print head.

Shorts out intermittently

There are 2 ,, 150 watt halogen lamps in the machine that heat the drum. One of both have burnt out.
To verify that, turn the machine on and look into the fan slot and look for glowing lamps. If after a minute or so , you don't see any light in the machine, one or both lamps have failed.

Phaser 8400 problem

I would call xerox second level support. There has to be a problem with that driver . I have seen this problem more than a few times. call 1-800-835-6100 and see if they have an alternative. This is an obvious flaw in the driver.

Have you looked at the roll in your maintenance kit? It may be dry in that area and not applying enough lubricant on the drum. Or you have some contaminant on the print head wiper blade or the mylar strip in the maintenance kit. Sounds like something is making contact with the drum causing your problem.

. Check for spilled ink and ink overflow from printhead reservoirs. If reservoirs have overflowed or a large amount of ink is present in bottom of machine, the printer has most likely been tilted, tipped or moved while hot and this may not be covered under normal warranty or service agreement. Contact Customer and Technical Support for additional troubleshooting assistance. 3. Check printhead wiper, wiper belts and drive gears for damage. 4. Check the wiper alignment and physically align wiper as outlined in Section 6 of Service Manual, Wiper Alignment Procedure. Run the Wiper Alignment test. Reference Section 3 of Service Manual 8,0XX.xx Errors - Wiper/Media Drive Faults. 5. Run the Head Maintenance Clutch test.

All my printouts on my Phaser 8400 is fuzzy and

What normally causes that is the Drum motor encoder picks up the lubrucant from the drum and makes the drum spin to fast and or just out of sync.
It is located on the right side of the machine. I reference that looking from the front. To remove the right cover you remove one torx screw from the top back and one inside the paper path door in front, near the top. Then when those 2 are removed you lift up and out on the cover.
The encoder is on the end of the drum shaft. You can remove it and clean it by pouring alcohol over it, wiping it gently then allow it time to dry.
That should take care of it. If not then the encoder will need replaced.
If you go to Xerox.com and click on support and drivers, enter 8400 in the search box, and it may be on the support page or the documentation page, but there is a parts list on the site that you can look at as a reference or also to get a part number to order a new one if needed. Using the parts list is the best way to be certain you are getting to the correct part and not guessing.
But I am about 90 percent certain that the encoder is the issue.

I'm receiving error code 07.010.43:62795

This error message means the printhead is stuck in the tilt position by the tilt arms. If the process motor gearbox is out of sync, it'll cause this error.
Please try this: Reboot the printer. Verify the lock arms rotate correctly. Check for spilled ink around the printhead (did you move it without waiting for it to cool down?) Check the process motor gears for damage. Make sure they're aligned and homed correctly. Repeat for process gear box, process shaft, and drive module shaft. Verify the headtilt gear will engage. From there, run the Tilt Axis Drive test, Process Motor test, Head Maintenance Clutch test (replace clutch if failed), and Wiper drive test (replace wiper drive system if failed)

I have a xerox 8200 with a faulty printhead.

Weird directions. You to have to remove the side covers. The top cover is the ink loader. The tray where you install your ink sticks. You need a thin flat blade screw driver to remove it. There are no screws just some tabs on the sides that you have to release and it lifts out. Pretty easy. There are 1 or 2 plugs to disconnect on the ink loader. Then remove the print block. and the 2 spring clips on the sides of the print head. It really is an easy replacement. But DO NOT under any circumstances touch the jets , the front plate of the print head.
There are no screws to take out the ink loader once you have the side covers off.

Your print head wiper blade is not moving properly.

The clutch that moves the wiper may be failing.
That blade is located between the drum and print head.

Printhead Wiper Alignment: Rotate the left and right idler gears until the Wiper is all the way to the bottom and the gears cannot be rotated further. Rotating the left and right gears together ensures that the wiper stays parallel and does not pop out of the belts. Now rotate the left idler gear a couple of teeth to raise the left side of the wiper to the top. Make sure that the left side of the wiper is a bit higher than the right side. Might have to try this procedure a couple of times, a couple of teeth at a time, to properly align the wiper.

Fault 11,009.46:72814

That is a startup communication error.
What I would try is unplugging the machine, and go to the back, you will see 2 larger plastic thim screws that will allow you to slide the main board out. Remove the memory sticks and clean the contacts on that. replace those sticks and slide the module in and out 4 or 5 times to clean the contacts and reseat it firmly.
If that doesn;t work then you most likely have a bad main board or electronics module and it can be very diffucult to determine which is bad. Both are pretty pricey.
