Zebra Z4M Printer - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Z4m printer will miss labels in jobs.
Check the label size is set correctly in the application. Try using a driver from Nice Label or Seagull Scientific websites to suit Z4M (Not Z4M Plus). Recalibrate the printer and try again. Remember to setup the driver correctly because the driver will override the printer settings.

Printer appears to be locked up
If the error light is on it means there is a problem, this should be flashed up on the LCD e.g head open or paper out etc. Try disconnecting the printer data cable and reboot, see if the data light is still on. If it is then you might have an issue with the Main Logic Board

I have a problem printing to a Zebra printer Zm600
I am not a Linux Guru but is the printer the prints go to the Default printer on the server you attach to? if so that will be the problem. You need to map the printer back to you local laptop. If this was a Windows Terminal Server environment this is done automatically when using RDP. it will be similar to the way you map your local Floppy or CD.

S4M automatically feeds extra labels everytime it's turned on
Set your print driver to "Do Nothing" on Head Close and Power Up. the next time you print will pass this information to the printer and the problem will not come back - actually the default for the driver is "Do Nothing" so it has probably been changed for some reason, you will need to change it back.

Zebra Z4m calibration doesn't work with different labels
You need to run the internal media sensor calibration setup that is built into the menu. This can take a few minutes but will solve this problem. The machine needs to be setup for the media you are running. This is no fun if you have to change a lot during a day and each media type has diferent qualities. It ususually happens when you are using labels from one manufacturer and then switch to a diferent brand. The backing material has diferent characteristics that the machine needs to be setup to be able to handle.

Not having good quality print with zebra z4 m
Try slowing down the print speed to 2 ips. Then increase the speed. Usually, this is a problem of exceeding the limits of the printer. The faster you print, the weaker the print. With a ribbon that is matched to the label stock, you will have an optimum speed for best performance.

Dimly label
Hi Cvetan, could you reset the printer to it's default settings. To do this you need to access the Menu, once you have accessed the menu you need to exit it. You will be presented with Save Permanent, cycle around until you find Load Defaults and press exit, it should say loading defaults. restart the printer and see how it goes. If the print quality is too light, change the settings in the driver under Head settings. Once you send the print you printer will pickup the new settings.
I hope this helps

Same problem
I gather the same problem is a Ribbon out error, as previous solutions recalibrate the printer will fix it. What happens is the printer has lost or corrupted the settings it has for the calibration. By re-calibrating will restor the settings and should work fine after that.

I'm inputing ASCII via RS232 would like barcode printout
You will need to send the data using ZPL or the printer won't recognize it , if you don't have experience in this area print through the Zebra Print Driver should work. In your application use Barcode 128 as the font and see how it goes
