How to change the temp in a frigidaire galaxy refrigerator

Units will vary give or take a few degrees from the control panel display. Keep in mind once you change the temperature it will take up to 10-12 hours to stabilize and reach that temperature. If the unit is not cool, even at the bottom of the refrigeration portion (where the coolest air will be found) then contact a professional to diagnose the control pane and board.

Code 5y ce

Hello Marc Donmoyer - Could the error code be SY CE? If so, then the refrigerator has detected a communication error at power up. Contact a professional to move forward accurately to check the wiring between main control board and user interface. Depending on the diagnoses, either or will need replacing.

Codes sy ce refrigerator display

Good Afternoon Johnny, thank you for your inquiry! Error code SY CE, commonly refers to a communication error at power up. Let's try resetting the refrigerator by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn on the unit. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, than the unit could possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the control board or a faulty user interface board. In this regard, I would recommend reaching out to an expert technician to ensure the appropriate replacement part is ordered.

Fridge stopped working like the power went off . Could it be the control board

Hello - Often when the refrigerator is inoperable and has no LED lights, it is because it could be something as simple as a damaged cord or an issue more complicated that requires the help of a professional. Check that the household circuit breaker has not been tripped or that any fuses are blown. Also, try reprogramming the refrigerator by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If the fuses are working fine, however issue persists, then the refrigerator may be experiencing some form of a sealed system issue or a faulty electronic control board. At this point, I would personally recommend contacting a certified technician to accurately diagnose the unit to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

Water comes out but no ice

Hello Rocco Berardi - From what you are describing if the ice maker is not making ice but is dispensing water, sounds like the refrigerator has a frozen water line, faulty ice maker valve or bad component that sends power to the ice maker valve when needed. The ice maker cycles internally to call for water so I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.

Frigidaire french door refrigerator not making ice

Hello jcwilson2929 - If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, you can check the following:

1. It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again.

2. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

3. When was the last time the filter was changed? Most side-by-side filters are recommended to be change approximately every 6-9 months depending on your water usage and frequency. The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice or have a clogged water filter. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts!

4. Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.
