Fishman Loudbox amplifier rattle sound on bass notes
Either the speakers have loosened from the faceplate, or one or more have blown. Open the amp and tighten them down. If that doesn't fix it, remove them a take them to the nearest speaker repair shop for a checkup. If blown either have them re-coned or replace them.
What's your problem?I have two Fishman amps. The older Loudbox 100 single channel and a Loudbox mini. I am trying to find the service manual for the older fishman as I have a fault with it and the
Fishman iis you best bet http://www.fishman.comYou can download the user manuals, they do have a block diagram, but the scan is pretty bad. It may end up the person looking at it is going to need to rely upon their general knowledge. My own suggestion is to pull the chassis out so you can work on it while powering it. And then work your way through the amp with either a signal source plugged in at the input, and with high impedance headphones with test lead ends, go through each audio stage carefully. until the fault is isolated. If it is not caps or the rectifiers in the power supply, faulty ground connections to chassis or faceplate, a faulty 4558 is most probable. The headphone approach is the fastest way to address this last one. If a different series of preamp chip is used, a good source for the IC datasheets in general is Digikey http://www.digikey.com and parts too.
The fuse blows right away. How do I isolate this
Unplug all cables, turn all gains and volume to zero and switch on. If the fuse still blows I'm afraid it has a power supply fault and will need repairing by a tech.
Also, make sure it is a T-type or slow blow fuse of the correct rating. Ensure that if a mains voltage selector exists that it is set for your local mains voltage.
