Runtime error
Look at the back of the router it gives all the default information to use on a web browser (to avoid the runtime error)
Press the Restore Factory Settings button, on the bottom of the unit, for 6 seconds.
Connect via a Ethernet cable and put in the gateway address of
192.1.168.1 to the web browser to see the login screen.
User name is admin, password is password.
Then you can reconfigure the router to your set-up.

Lost my Wireless name (SSID)
lost my Security
1. Open your internet browser.
2. Type in 192.168.0.1 and press enter.
3. When prompted, type in admin for username and password for password. That should get you into all of the settings, where you can view your wireless network's SSID and security passphrase.
4. CHANGE your username and password. This is how hackers access your network!

How do i change password
to change the password on a netgear, you first need to secure or make sure that you are connected to it. be it wireless or hardwired. after ensuring that your laptop is connected, open a browser, and type 192.168.1.1 or www.routerlogin.net, then it would ask you for a username and password. username is " admin " password is " password " then it would take you now to the netgear page. on the left side of that screen, click on wireless settings, then you can start changing your password in security option. then click apply.
Wierless router not responding

You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders,washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.
How to change the channel on my router?

I have a problem with my router login.I have tried
If the router ssid reads virginmedia.... then you have not reset the router. The default name for a Netgear router is Netgear.Push the reset button in (on the back of the router) and hold it for at least 15 seconds or until the power light flashes.Now the username and password and SSID should be reset to the default.

Check the following and then try the solution:
1. Do you have other wireless devices connected?
Yes, go to solution #1, if you know the SSID then try solution #2
No, go to step 2.
2. Are there any wifi connection listed in range?
Yes, go to solution #1, if you know the SSID then try solution #2
No, go to step 3
3. Go to a location were you know there is a wifi connection, can you see this connection in the wireless assistant?
Yes, go to solution #1
No, go to solution #2
#1 my thought is you are not sure of what the SSID is, so place the laptop next to the Netgear router and chose the best wifi signal to connect to in wireless assistant.
#2 There is a switch/or button on the laptop to turn on the wireless. It is normally somewere on the side of the laptop, turn it on and it should glow blue. Now try to connect to your router.
