Before you decide replacing the motherboard, have you determined the fault in the laptop?
I suggest you attach a monitor to the laptop and power up the monitor then bootup the laptop. This will automatically switch the video data to the external monitor. If you don't get a normal Windows image then you could have a faulty video card or faulty memory.
In a laptop the video card uses part of the main RAM (memory), try re-seating the RAM module/s and see if this corrects the problem.
If not you could have faulty RAM module/s, take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test them for you. If these are OK then you definitely have a faulty video chip problem. This is part of the motherboard and the fix is a replacement motherboard.
Replacing the motherboard may not be a cost effective solution, but it depends upon the age of the laptop and the costs of repair.
If you decide to get a new laptop, you can salvage the hard drive from this laptop and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as an external USB hard drive.

you must install its chipset and drivers , most laptops will come with a bunch of cds have a look through them and find the driver cds, and install away. if no good goto the support site for your laptop and navagate to the driver download area and choose your system, put all on a usb key or just even the wireless card and install to laptop, or just burn them to cd once you have your wireless card installed you can do rest from net. or even better just find the driver cds that came with it and job done. hope this helps

Well first check device manager and make sure it is not installed, secondly identify if there is any unknown devices in device manager, if not then the device has either been disabled or is having a serious conflict, now reboot the computer and while its rebooting check the bios to see if the peripheral devices has the onboard audio disabled, if that is what it is, then after it reboots double check the device manager and make sure the device has not been reinstalled and there is not any unknown devices.

If its windows you need to perform a reinstall and get access to the system control and the mouse control
verify they are recognized it my be hardware failure if it isnt it could be in need of an update

Are You sure You've got installed a correct driver? The original drivers are normally placed at Your original install disc. And how You restore a n operation system on Your laptop? Probably You've not installed all chipset drivers and the mainboard cannot work properly with Your cam. Restore system from shipped disc and everything will be fine. Don't use drivers downloaded.

you download the driver and installed but, are you sure that your wifi is turn on... make it sure that wifi is on..

Some notebooks are not compatible with some routers. Netgear is not that user friendly. But it is not a bad router. you can do one or all of the following:

1. Replace the router to a newer more user and compatible model. Upgrade to a newer "N" router.
2. Download a network program to connect you. Network Magic is a good one. Cheap and works really well.
3. Have a network pro come set it up properly and test your system.

Try an external mouse and if that works your touchpad is bad and needs to be replaced.

Check the properties on the CD/DVD drive to make sure the burning is enabled.
Go to My Computer, right click on the drive, then properties--> recording tab - make sure the box is checked to enable burning.
