Canon mx410 paper jam error
For me on my Cannon MX410 with a "paper Jam" light displayed this WORKED!! The absolute BIZZARE thing was after I went and through the described procedure above and rebooted and tried to print the 1st page that came out had a "crushed" ****-roach on the 1st page! So I didn't have a paper jam,...but aROACH Jam. :) I told my wife, Humm pest service not workin I guess! It errored out again, but simply unpluggingUSB and power cord (not the steps described for the Print Spooler) it prints fine. SO saved me buying a new printer which was just 6 mos. OLD and FINE by me! So THX, Vikram Kumar Thumu!

I just set up my new mx410 printer and every time
Hi,
Try this: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Then, unplug the USB from the back of the printer. After a minute, plug the power cord back in. Let the printer boot up for a minute. Then plug the USB in again. Let the USB get connected. If you don't see any errors and you setup your printer, then that should have reset the "other operation".
Thanks for using FixYa.

Where is the ink absorber located on my pixma mx410
I don't have a Pixma printer but the ink absorbers are usually located at the right side if the printer just under the print heads. This is the area used by the printer to clean the print heads. My guess is that more of the ink used by a printer ends up here instead of of be ing used for printing. There is good information on youtube. See Link

How do I clean the printhead of a Canon Pixma MX410.
The printheads for this printer are part of the ink cartridge. They can be cleaned by sitting the bottom of the cartridge (where the printhead is) in a shallow dish of warm water to dissolve the dried ink. Blot on a dry tissue (dont wipe) then try print again.

MX410 paper jam without paper jam
Either there is a small fragment of paper still hidden in the carriage somewhere, or the sensor is defective. If you can't seem to locate the problem, it would be best to contact Canon directly and ask technical service for assistance.

Canon Printer MX410 will not print after reloading ink cartridge
PG510 and CL511 cartridges have a memory chip which records the number of pixels printed to give an approximate ink level so it won't know if you have added more ink. These levels cannot be re-set. The error message on computer screen should give instructions to continue printing with an "empty" cartridge which normally involve holding the Stop/Reset button on the printer for more than 5 seconds whilst the message is still on the PC screen. You may have to do this once for each of the 2 cartridges.

Mx410.can send fax but cannot
I am a bit rusty on this and not up with later machines (from my old fax machine) or latest phone system features, it is possible that your answering system is getting in ahead of the fax so it is unable to hear the fax tones to respond.
Now I do not have an answering service but my line runs through a ring counter which transfers a call to my fax after 8 rings.
If your answering service is a home device unit its instructions may help or it may have a socket on it for a fax to plug into so it can transfer a call.
If its a provided service you may need to talk with them regarding this problem and they may have a setting that can be done to include a fax.
That fax may have a ring count setting itself in the menu which may need to be lowered.
Phones are not my normal subject so I may not make much sense but it seems that the answering service is winning the pick up the phone first contest, fax's are a bit older technology and tend to be lower on the priority list. They either have a dedicated line or get switched in at night when a company shuts shop.
You may need a PBX system (a local phone exchange) if you have a home answering unit, these units can pick up a line at first ring then direct it to a fax if it hears tones, or phone if not after a few seconds but this will not work with a provided service. I think we are both confused now but I hope this helps in some way..........

Software won't install
Ann, try plugging printer in and see if computer does a self installation. If not you may have to turn security off to install.
