That means the colour cartridge has failed, as only one of the three colours are working. Try running a head cleaning routine, that may clear it, but don't do too many as it will use up all of your ink.
You may need to replace the colour cartridge. The following YouTube video shows you how to change the cartridge.
Canon MX410 Changing the cartridges
Look for a poor connection from phone terminal to the machine. Double check where you ha e it plugged into. On the machine. If your using a 4wire phone line go to a two wire. I Believe that a poor connection is your problem. I use a two wire cable not a 4 wire.
Make sure you have the current driver installed.pixma maxifi works real well. Follow the steps on wireless connection or wired. Then search the printer. Make sure both device and printer are on the same network. In the set up you will be prompted to pick the network. Canon.com/ijsetup
You will need to select manual under the RX settings. Under fax settings. Rx means receive, Tx means transmit. The fax settings are under additional functios * on keyboard. Or you can put a switch in the phone line. When you tell it manual you will have to be there to receive a fax. In the fax settings there are several options on how and when you receive a fax. Ring settings forward settings things like this can customize your fax. You can set how many rings before it answers. Leave it on auto and set more rings so it won't answer until that many rings. Default is 2 or 3 rings. Give it 5 that will give you time to answer and you can still get faxes when your not there. Play around with it and figure out what works for you.
If you open the front tray where the paper comes out, you should be able to lift up under the word canon. It should lift like a car hood. If the printer is on then they will come to the center of the machine and stop. Lift up on the "C" or "B" for which ever is being changed. (color, black; respectively)
Ensure paper path is clear.
If so..
Then clean pickup rollers, first (carefully) with lint free cloth* and water.
*If you do not have any lint free cloth, use what you have and clean rollers afterward with sticky tape.
First try shutting down the printer using the off button. Then turn it back on. If this doesn't work then abruptly turn it off by pulling the plug from the wall and plug back in to the wall socket and turn on the printer.
The first thing that did when I had that problem with a Pixma that I had for years was to go to Internet site for Canon, select my model, download the latest set of drivers, and install them. That took care of the problem.
Hi
Not perhaps as helpful as we would both prefer but all the manual (which can be found here:-
Canon PIXMA MX410
and downloaded and installed to your computer) says about this 5b00 error is:- "The machine error has occurred. Contact the service center."
A slightly better idea is on the Canon site here
PIXMA Printer Error Codes and Error Messages
Good Luck
It is not uncommon for this to happen. What I did with my Pixma was go on the assumption that the fax executable file had become corrupted. So I uninstalled it, then reinstalled, and all went smoothly until the next time, when the same solution worked again. Since the other possibility is hardware which means money, try my solution.
Hi,
What you need to do is select the file type as .png instead of the default .jpg. A .png file will create one file with multiple pages.
Good Luck
