Traulsen Commercial Freezer needs charging?
The refrigerant level is low. The only thing is that the unit may not have a low charge. There can be several things that cause the unit not to refrigerate properly. It could have weak valves in the compressor or even a bad TXV(thermostatic expansion valve). Have you had this box repaired yet.? I see that this is an old post.
The unit not rich temperature
Hi,
This can tell us many things such us :
-; Compressor malfunction
- Low refrigerant level
- Thermostat wrong setting or malfunction
- Door ajar
- etc.
My suggest go check and fix ( if any problem) with first 3 items above ( these item have potential problem that cause you never reach your intended temperature).
regards,
I turned the power on my freezer as now we
Too many things can go wrong, but try this first, The fan on the top must be turning got the unit to work. Sometimes when a unit sits up for a while the fan bearings freeze up. Try trurning the fan with your hand of a screwdriver if it has a shroud around the fan. It may start moving and ususally when it does it will be arright after that. The inside will be hot because it will go into a defrost cycle 3 or 4 times a day and that puts a lot of heat inside the unit. Also the door frames are heated. Check to see if the compressor is running. If it is the small copper line going over tt the fan will be very hot. If not its not running. Co to start with clean the radiator coils on the outside and make sure the fan by the compressor is running.

Compressor runs but internal fan isn't working,
Check to see if there is correct, complete power to the fan. If not, look for a fan delay that may be attached to the evap. It comes in many configurations. It may have two or three wires going to it. They may be two black wire or 3 wire of different colors. Power goes to the fan thru this device. It may not be working or the evap not getting cold enough to activate it. I will need model and serial to help more.
Let me know what you find.

To check if the expansion valve is faulty in your freezer, you can follow these steps:
- Safety Precautions: Ensure the power is disconnected and the freezer is fully defrosted before proceeding.
- Locate the Expansion Valve: The expansion valve is typically located near the evaporator coil in the freezer. It is a small valve with an inlet and outlet.
- Visual Inspection: Inspect the expansion valve for any visible signs of damage or leaks. Look for corrosion, loose connections, or frost accumulation around the valve.
- Temperature Measurement: Use a thermometer to measure the temperature at different points in the refrigeration system. Check the temperature at the inlet and outlet of the expansion valve. There should be a noticeable temperature drop across the valve.
- Pressure Measurement: If you have the necessary tools and experience, you can also measure the pressure at the inlet and outlet of the expansion valve using a pressure gauge. Compare the pressure readings to the manufacturer's specifications to determine if the valve is functioning properly.
- Consult a Professional: If you are unsure about performing these checks or don't have the necessary tools, it is recommended to contact a professional technician or an authorized service center. They will have the expertise and equipment to accurately diagnose and repair any issues with the expansion valve.
