Archos 7 download unsuccessful

OK ..this is depending on the browser you use..All browser have under the tools and than options ..the possibility to choose the location for the download permanently ..Usually for internet explorer the location is the desktop ..and the desktop is located on drive C on the hard drive ..and if this is full you do not have permission to download large files..You have several choice ..If the file is asking to save it ..choose to save it in another location when you download it ..(some downloads let you do that ) ..If not ..just change the download director for the browser ..and than change it back for to avoid future problems ..(specially if you choose to download to a flash drive or card ..and after that remove it ) It may be a problem with choosing the location for internet explorer ..an may not let you change it ..and in this case ..download teh Mozilla Firefox..and this browser it has this choice under tools options ..just select under the save files to ....the location you need..and will always save them there ..Another way to make it work ..is to move files located into C drive to another partition ..and make space ..All files and folder in the desktop and in user folder are located on C drive ..and if you have files stored there..(photos ..movies ..installers or documents ) you can move them to a different location in drive D or on disk or a flash drive ..when you will have enough space ..the download will work ..have a nice day ..and please ask if you have another questions ...Do not forget to rate my answer so that will help my activity on the site...thank you !

Cracked lcd screen

You can just replace the LCD screen itself if you want, assuming you have a set of micro tools and a bit of basic electronic repair skill.Replacement screens are available online although they can be fairly expensive. Here are a few links to replacement screens for your device currently available on EBay for about $59 US plus shipping:http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-origial-ARCHOS-7-internet-Tablet-lcd-screen-display-/270871381153?pt=UK_CE_GPS_Accessories_Software_ET&hash=item3f113144a1http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-origial-ARCHOS-7-Home-Tablet-lcd-screen-display-/270860700686?pt=UK_CE_GPS_Accessories_Software_ET&hash=item3f108e4c0e Just use your mouse to click on the links, which are the underlined and blue highlighted sections of text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information and items at the website indicated. I truly hope that was helpful to you. Good luck and take care. Joe.

I am unable to connect to the internet. I am asked

first you must have an ISP Internet Service provider contract which will provide you with a modem and leads you can choose either a dial up,usb,or an ethernet connection to connect to the internet or if you have a laptop you can choose a wireless usb modem which can work on a desktop aswell once you recieve the modem just insert the disk provided and follow the prompts to set up your new internet connection during the setup process you will be asked for a password I suggest you make a log of all pass words used outside of your computer incase of memory lapses you might have put in the wrong password or user id check to make sure you have put these in correctly first make sure the caps lock is on/off what ever applies to your user and password id that you provided to your ISP also make sure your routers settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online hope this helps

Wifi says connected but no internet

hello

To make sure that the ARCHOS can recognize the presence of the WiFi access point, go to Menu > Settings > Wireless controls > WiFi settings and then see what is listed under the section "Wi-Fi Networks". One or several WiFi access points should be listed.

If the access point you want to connect to is not listed, then it might be
• Because the router/modem is not switched on.
• Because the router/modem access point is set to not broadcast its identity (even though it is available for use). Ask the manager of the WiFi modem/router to temporarily enable the identity (SSID) broadcasting. To do so, one would have to go into the settings of the router/modem either by using the web browser or a special application program that came with the router/modem. Search for a setting that has a name something like "Hide SSID" and make sure it is off. Once this is done, the ARCHOS should recognize the access point and be able to connect to it. The ARCHOS just needs to connect once and it will "know" this access point - even when it is later "hidden". The WiFi router/modem can then be set back to "Hidden SSID". In general, hiding the SSID of your modem/router is ineffective as a security measure so you might as well just leave it on.

please send me 4 thumbs up

Where can i get a docking station to suit

You will probably find that unless it is a popular brand (Like Apple) then a dock will not be made for shape of your tablet/ phone/ anything.

Without the wide install base the product would not sell at all.

I have purchased this product with a software

I've had the same problem and was told by an Amazon customer service person that the Archos 7 Home Tablet must not be a recognized device. I've brought the issue to the attention of Archos technical support and they claim to know nothing about another companies software and could not help. I don't think there is a solution, I think it just doesn't work on this device. I don't know why they included the kindle e reader app if it is useless on this device. I also rec'd Syncables 360 software and I can't get it to work either and technical support for that software is non existent. I tried calling the phone number a couple of times and was disconnected each time. I will be contacting the company I purchased this from to log a complaint.
