Ricoh KR-5 light meter needle won't move, new batteries

About the only thing you can do is clean the batt. cover and contacts in batt holder. Make sure batts are good. No parts are avail. for this model. However this is a rugged camera and you can buy a hand held light meter inexpensive.

Can the 35mm SLR Ricoh

Straightforward answer: no. Everything needs power to work except for the self timer, but even that won't fire the shutter without battery power.

Ricoh kr 5 super ii mirror

There are some wide angle lenses that will hit the mirror and not allow it to move correctly. Wide angle lenses go further back on the film plane, so they can't be used with that camera. Try a Pentax.

Lite meter don't work I bought it off internet seller said it was in exl.cond.it looks that's all

The built-in through-the-lens CdS exposure metering system of your KR-5 SUPER operates on power activated by two 1.5V SR-44 silver oxide batteries, which are supplied together with your camera. Have you changed the battery? Also, many of these older cameras the light meters are not very good. I would suggest getting one of the free smartphone light meter apps.

How do I remove film from the camera?

wow a film camera!!!! , didn't know any of these still existed (less than 60mm) anyways you'll need to rewind the film back into housing , this is done with tiny crank on top of film advance wheel (don't go to fast !!!) slow and steady wins the race!! you'll also need to activate the shutter release lever (around the crank someplace) DO NOT OPEN CAMMERA TILL YOU HAVE REWINDED ALL THE FILM INTO HOUSING !!!!!!!!!!!! it will ruin all the photos

The mirror only returns when lens removal, it appears that on his return back it locks when the lens is at infinity. Maybe problem whith the mirror glue???

Sounds like the back of the lens may be sticking too far into the mirror box and interfering with the mirror travel. There are also a couple of bumpers on the bottom of the mirror box, and the plastic has become soft and breaks off, allowing too much travel for the levers. Try another lens first. If it does it with all lenses then you will have to search out a repair facility that still does something so old.

Check you battery ends and make sure there is NO corrosion. An emory board works good.....also check the contacts in the camera well.

When I bought this camera

From what you've given, it sounds like the shutter is fried, or the mechanism jammed - or both. If you're wanting to keep the camera, and use it, you'll need to contact a repair technician and have them take a look at it for a repair estimate - assuming it's able to be repaired. Estimates will run you around $35 most places, if there's no shop near you KEH Camera which has a website is quite good.

The same thing just happened to my Nikon FE, and my estimates have been ranging anywhere from $105-145 to get it fixed, so the decision of whether to repair or replace if really left up to you.

Battery #

Your camera takes two SR44 batteries. LR44's will also do and are cheaper, but the exposure meter will not be as accurate as they have different voltage characteristics.

You may wish to download a free copy of your camera manual courtesy of Norman Butkus; it's only fair to point out that providing this information costs him money so please consider his request for a token voluntary donation of $3 US if the information is of use to you.

Ricoh KS Super II 35mm

If the batterys are ok ,try rotating the speed control to X and the mirror will unlock from its upper position and the film will advance next time you try. Also the camera will not operate unless the leaver is moved away from its rest position, ie level with the camera body to its first movement area.
