ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Have you tried to take photos & then use the USB cable to download those trial photos? or take test photos and then swap your SD card into another SD card camera?
The rear screen has all its electrics passing through a flat ribbon connector, as this is the only link to the main body of the camera. This ribbon folds over itself at 45 degrees within the case when the camera is assembled.
This fold is OK until the camera is compressed accidently, when that fold in the ribbon may become a crease, and then one or more of the connections within the ribbon may fail at the crease, and while camera works otherwise, you have then lost function of the rear screen.
Take some test photos & if they download OK, I'd suspect this ribbon connector is the problem. Camera Good, Screen not working.
I currently have this problem with my R1v & have yet to see if a replacement ribbon connector is available from a Repair facility, so my help may only give you insight, without end-solution.

For extended videos, you need a class 6 or better card.

I am not able to upload my photos from camera to computer. Help me out. Its very urgent.

If light is the problem shot off the flash mode on your camera menu. Also try to change the angle from which you take the picture this help a lot.

When the flash is activated the camera reduces its light sensitivity[In old photo terms it 'Stops Down'] to prevent 'burnout'[or over exposure] As the flash is small powered and has only a limited 'throw' only the objects illuminated by the flash will be correctly exposed. On the other hand- with no flash the camera will open the aperture wider to maximise the light available.

You did insert a SD card? not a SDHC card. And before you did, you checked if the card was unlocked? (little switch on the left side should be up towards the golden contacts on the back side.

I don't know why this same question keeps coming up ? it has been answered.

If the marks do not show up on your photos then there is a problem with the LCD or circuit.

I have had the same problem. Here where I live is a renouned camera repairman. I took it to him and received the bad news. He said the "frame" was bent , and it could not be repaired. It needed to be replaced. I am really suspicions yours may be also. We here at "fixya" have no prices or parts for anything. We are only a consulting group of people. God bless your efforts.

Unless you have a lens collimator and other equipment to ensure proper alignment when you reassemble the lens, don't even think about taking the lens apart. Take the lens to a reputable camera shop and let a qualified and properly equipped tech handle the cleaning.
