cant see that model watch on the Bulova web site user manualshttp://www.manualslib.com/brand/bulova/watch.htmlif unsure if it needs a battery go to a jeweler or watch or battery seller some model Bulova Watched instructionsIF YOUR NEW WATCH IS A MECHANICAL WATCH(no battery)Mechanical watches differ from Quartz watches in severalrespects:1. No battery changes are needed - they are powered by a main-spring, which is wound either by wrist movement; or in somemodels by daily winding of the setting crown.2. Because it is a mechanical device, it's accuracy is subject tothe effects of gravity and temperature. You can expect, on theaverage, a daily variance of up to 10 to 20 seconds formechanical watches.3. Just like automobiles, these watches require routine mainte-nance. Due to their mechanical complexity, mechanicalwatches require cleaning and new lubrication every 3 to 5years to run at optimum efficiency.FOR THE AUTOMATIC SELF-WINDINGMECHANICAL WATCHit must be wound at least six or seven times before you wear it.After that, your daily activity should wind the watch sufficientlyto keep it running at night when it is not being worn. If yournormal daily activity is not sufficient, occasional supplementarymanual winding may be necessary. It is suggested that yourmechanical watch be cleaned and oiled periodically to insureoptimum performance. As a mechanical watch, quartz watchaccuracy cannot be expected. Jesus I can't believe no one answered this guy with even an "I don't know." in 6 years. If it's like my watch, it's for synchronizing the second hand. If you press the button on the minute mark from the NIST time web site, when your watch is ten seconds fast, the second hand will stop for ten seconds. This makes your watch match the time clock. The really cool thing is if your watch is SLOW, if you press the button on the minute mark when your watch is twenty seconds behind the NIST time web site, the second hand will SPEED UP until it matches the NIST time. Very cool and this is **totally from my memory** because I just got my watch back from Bulova but I forgot to ask about the button.

Tip & How-To about Watches
Changing Watch Batteries
Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10!
Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!

Set time on mz berger aw 205 388 sport watch
I just got a M.Z. Berger AW206 366 so the setup should be identical.
The watch has four buttons total. I'll name then by their positions. Top Left (TL), Top Right (TR), Bottom Left (BL), and Bottom Right (BR).
(BL) is your mode switch. Press it once at a time to toggle between modes, (Time, Chronograph, and Alarm). From the Time mode press (BL) three times. This will put you back in time mode with the seconds flashing. Press (TR) to toggle seconds back to '00'. Press (BR) to toggle to the next setting point, and (TR) to advance it. Just keep pressing (BR) until all the settings points are the way you want them. Note: In time setting mode it only advances the setting forward when you press (TR). So when using it to change hours display for 12/24 hour display or daylight savings time you just have to keep advancing the hour until it shows up correct. There is no DST or 12/24 display toggle on this watch. You just have to change the hours display manually. To exit time setting just press (BL) once.
