You may try to use the modem to another pc just to check if the modem is defective or not. If in case the same thing you may want to reboot the modem by pressing on the power button for 5 seconds and wait for a minute beforer turning it on again. If it doesnt work you may also hard reset the modem by following the steps below.

Locate the reset button on the bottom of the 6520 and while holding the reset button watch the power light when it flashes red release it. then you can go to the config utility 192.168.2.1 , you can then configure the 6520 with your aliant UN and PW info. you will know it has connected when the internet light comes on solid green.

You may check now if the same thing happen to your wifi connection. Unless it is an ISP issue.

I have experienced similar issues with PBX/ Asterix based VOIP solutions.

1.High volumes of traffic can lead to packet loss through the router. since VOIP traffic is carried through the same router/internet connection you may not have QOS, (qulaity of Service) configured correctly.

2. PBX / Asterix are technically beta applications and some level of error is inherent with all beta applications.

3. Possible attack or attempted entry on VOIP based servers is also very likly since many companies do not monitor them the same way as most servers. Generally, the VOIP system has many ports to the internet and are generally outside of the DMZ or Firewall.

Please post more information about how the phone system is hosted, the software being run and the amout of handsets.

You will need to input the new connection details: type of connection (PPoE or PPoA), the connection settings (the VPI and VCI), and finally the username and the password. All this data is provided by the the new ISP.

The new data is entered in the configuration window of the router. To access it go to 10.0.0.138 with your browser, use the username and password that you previously selected (the default are admin) and enter in the configuration page. In there click ISP connection, Advanced Settings and Configure the ATM Virtual Circuit - in there click Delete until the list is empty and click Add a new VC: in there you input the new data

remember during the process you will be formating your laptop but dont be scared that is the only solution to your system problem

Hi Kent - this is apparently a router supplied by an ISP in the UK. From what I have seen, there is a WPA key on the bottom label of the router. It looks like this:

Click to start it running (in the background)

Windows should recognize it as a "plug-and-play" device

The difference between a Lsn Card and a modem are this - A Lan card is a card that you slide into the side of a laptop and it can allow you the ability to get onto a network wirelessly. A Lan card for a PC allows a Lan connection by way of a CAT 5 cable that will allow you to get onto the internet or if a crossover cable is attached to your pc to another you are directly connected to the network. A modem is a piece of hardware that is installed into a slot in the PC that will allow you the ability to get onto the internet by attaching a phone line to it through the RJ 11 jack (which it comes with 2 rj11 jacks on it).

You can try the default passwords to login your router.
user: admin
password:admin or n/a (leave blank)

If you changed your login password and forget it you can try to reset your router first. (Reset button on the back of the router. You will probably need a toothpick to poke it.)

Then try the default password again.

Hi there, Please follow these steps to set up your a wireless network with your Siemens Speedstream 6520 Wireless Modem.
To create a wireless network you first need to enable the wireless functionality of the router. To do this you need to connect the router by an Ethernet cable to your computer. Once the wireless modem is plugged into your computer via Ethernet and turned on please follow these steps to enable the wireless functionality.
If you have already enabled your wireless network please click here to go to the instructions to connect a new computer to the wireless network.

1. Open Internet Explorer or your preferred browser.
2. In the address bar type 192.168.254.254 then press enter.
3. This will bring up the main page for the Router.
4. Once the start up page has loaded you will then need to login by clicking on the "Go" button in the top left of the window.
5. This will bring up the Login page. Once the page has loaded please enter the username username and your password, then click "Log In".

Note: The default password is "admin", although this may have changed if you have changed the password.
This will bring you to the following page.
Once this page has loaded click on "Home Network" and then click "Advanced".
Once the new page has loaded you will have a list of links, please click on the "Configure the Local Speedstream Gateway Wireless Network" link.
This will bring up a new page called "Wireless Summary".
Once this page has loaded place click on "Begin Wireless Wizard".
On the new page under where it says "Wireless Interface" please click "Enable".
Once you have changed the wireless interface to "Enable" please enter a name for your wireless network where it says SSID (e.g. "Home Office").
Then please click on the "Next" link.
On the new page, please change "Security Mode" to "WEP 64-bits" and click "Next".

Most routers have a defalt user/password for setup and chainges. Try "admin" "password" to gain access to router. From there you should be able to reset any passwords put on it.
