connect to your wireless modem via an Ethernet cable for best result. open internet explorer on your computer. type 192.168.1.1 (or 192.168.254.254) you will be asked to enter username and password. username:- administrator Password :- admin (if nobody change previously) then after successful login, go to wireless settings, may be there is a separate tab named "security" under wireless settings. or else find out which is the area with "encryption" there you could see existing password, just change with 10 characters. save it. you have done. it is recommended to go to reboot tab and to click ok for rebooting your modem. other wise just power off and switch on again after 5 seconds.

Open your Web browser and enter the SpeedStream IP address http://192.168.254.254 in the browserAddress box. The SpeedStream 2623 will automatically switch to port 88 for management access. On the Login Screen, enter admin in the Password box; then click Login to display the Status screen of the management interface.
Automatically Generating Encryption Keys 1. On the Simple Setup ' Wireless Encryption screen, select Automatically. 2. Enter a password or password phrase. 3. Click Generate.
Manually Generating Encryption Keys 1. On the Simple Setup ' Wireless Encryption screen, select Manually. 2. Enter a password or password phrase. 3. In the bottom half of the screen, select #1. 4. Enter five hexadecimal keys; e.g., a number or letter in the range of 0-9 or A-F. 5. Click Enter to save settings and continue. Note:Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) protects data transmitted between wireless nodes, but does not protect any transmissions over your wired network or over the Internet.

Your router has a settings known as DHCP limit, MAC ID filtering (filtering by device ID called mac address). Either of these have been turned on. PLease let me know what kind of internet connection you are using DSL/CABLE etc., so that I can help you resolve this problem.

Are you getting an error when you try to connect?
If you were able to connect w/ the same device before, unplug any other device that uses radio signal such as cordless phones.
Unplug your wireless router for 1 minute and plug it back in. Wait for another 2 minutes and connect again.

You have to call your provider and let them know that you are putting on a new modem. they have to put all the new info into the system so the routers on there end let you in. If you have done that already reboot your router. Unplug it for 30 sec and then plug it back in. If still nothing then reset your router to factory default. you may have a conflict with the new modem.
