did you install it correctly? the base ,emitter and collector may not be in the same order on the erf210 as it was on the one being replaced.check it out I'll bet they are reversed.

ok .ther is no pot per say ,But if you are wanting to turn the dead key down you can adjust the choke at L14 . that will bring up or down ,but only by 2 watts .

you have high SWR on antenna .get the ant. tuned or go to a cb shop and have it tuned .i'm hoping it is on a vehicle .if its a base ant. you need to tune it.

yes but you will never know if you adjusted it up or down

you need a signal generator that costs more the radio you want turn the squelch up on.If its a one time deal its not worth it.If you intend on repairing radios then you will have a headstart. you need a service manual.the manual will tell you which vr to adjust.

if this is a used radio its because some golden screwdriver got into it but if its a new one then its the radio.Check the reverse polarity diode in either case to see if its burnt. If so replace it and see if it happens again.

with wilson antennas you don't have to need to run duals the proper way to adjust the SWR is to get an external meter like a trucker 2000 and a dummy load. you hook the dummy load to one antenna while working with the other and then switch the operation around. this way both antennas are matched seperatly yet work together.

bad ground ?Look at your meter when you key and check out the number reading you get . 2.7 and below is ok but the lower the better.

what kind of radio?It could be a number of things.

same as on any other radio . Remember it not the radio but the antenna you are tuning.If you can't move the tip up or down then you have to cut the antenna to shorten it or add a spring to lengthen it. thats only if your match is bad.

make sure you have no noise in the background at all the be my guest. you may have to put a cloth over the mic speaker to keep the noise level down but you can do it.

is mic plugged into radio? put oin another 4 pin cobra mic and see if it still happens.make sure your squelch is wide open and rf gain is also.If you still have the problem it could be several things. Final , main IC, or audio chip.

they all do. turn your squelch to the right till it dissappears then turn it baqck to the left slowly until it just break sand your in good shape.

ok, you have a high SWR.. this is what you can do.. you're gonna need to check the Radio's coax connection to see if it's loose on the Radio itself.. you're gonna have to open the Radio cover on the speaker side.. now go look at the connections on the pc board itself and see if there is a possible broke connection.. one is pcb ground, and one for the center. also, you might want to get a phillips head screw driver and gently tighten all the screws on the pc board. becareful going in there.. after this said and done, check the antenna connector itself to see if it's loose. if so, then you're gonna have to a pair of pliers to turn the nut on the inside while you use wrench to hold it in place on the outside.. now you're ready to test the radio.. don't put the cover on just yet until you see the results. set up your SWR Meter to the Radio and then set up the dummy load and do a SWR Test. if the reading is good, then the Radio is all set.. now for the Antenna.. you said that it's all new, but regardless you need to test it too.. check both ends of the cable and do a condinuity test.. get a ohm meter that has an audio sound. this will help you.. set the meter to ohms/conditnuity.. then short out the probes to get a ZERO reading/audio sound.. now take one end of the of the cable and put the probes on the connector.. one probe for the outter ground shell and the other probe to the center pin connection. if you see a ZERO reading or an audio sound, that means you have a short in the cable.. another way is to do it end to end.. put one probe on one end of the cable, and the other probe on the other end.. test the ground side first.. if you get a sound or a ZERO reading, that means you may have a short in the cable itself and may requier to remove the connectors.. some cases you might have to replace them.. remember to calibrate your meter when testing let me know how it goes.. how low is low If you have a match of 1.5 to 2.0 on all channels I wouldn't complain thats perfect.

you will probably have to mount it as a smd so choose your location well then get out the directions and have at it.

was the radio wired direct or with a cigarette lighter plug? try the RF gain knob and the mic gain knob.If they are wide open does the radio rec.any better? if not you may have a problem with the main IC

the components in this radio will not let you turn it up more than 4 watts nor will it allow you to turn the modulation to more than 90% the best thing to do if you want more power is to run a small heater and be happy.
