timyorba 1 solutions Jul 21, 2011 So, For anybody who doesn't know yet, you do not need the factory remote to restore button functions to your Insignia IS-LCDTV26. All you need to do is program a universal remote that can power on and off the TV, then"**press the "MUTE" Button 10 times successively**"and Voila! Unlocked, you should see the status appear in the corner of the TV if everything worked, if not try another tv code or try the manual search function on the remote to find another compatible code set.

You are going to need an original remote for that set.

1. Unplug unit from wall for 3 minutes;2. Press & hold Power button for 1 minute;3. Plug in unit. OR: 1. Unplug for 3 minutes.2. Plug in unit.3. Unfortuntly you have a panel that is going out. This is not cost effective to fix.

Most likely either the main board (processes all signal) or even an issue with the power board (supplies wrong voltage somewhere).In either case not cheap.

Insignia are a low-end Best Buy brand, and as such their reliability is poor.

If you're plugged in, the inputs are set correctly and the power comes on on the TV but you receive no picture, there is an issue with the TV itself.

Insignia offers a 2-year warranty, but you must have the original box and must be willing to pay for shipping. If you lack the original box or your purchase was longer than 30 days ago and you didn't purchase the extended warranty from Best Buy, you're most likely going to need a new TV, as they cost more to repair than they're worth.

You can just buy a new remote. Test it using the smartphone front camera trick. Or it is the television that has no signal, do a Power Reset. Pull the mains plug for 5 minutes. Press and hold the power button on the set for 1 minute. Plug back in. Also check the input leads on the back for whatever is supplying the signal, Cable, Satellite, OTA, then check the Source button on the remote.
