You have to be in the "Installation Mode" to adjust the heading. Hold menu key down while pressing the "pwr" key. Then select menu/installation and you'll be able to find the heading adjustment section.

Possibly voltage too low, faulty unit, no power coming to the unit.

try going to the ships register and applying for the changes there will be a marine department that will point you in the right direction

A trick that I have found with the marine Furuno products is that they remember the state that they were in the last time power was removed from them. In the unit is off when you remove the AUX power than when the AUX power is turned back on the unit will remain off. If the unit was on when the AUX power was turned off then the unit will be automatically turn on when power AUX is turned back on This feature keeps the unit alive if power is disrupted under way so that the helmsmen doesn't have to keep turning it back on during busy times.

You can interface the GP30 to the 1715 and get Lat/Lon readings where the cursor is. The GPS has extra wires in the power cable. The 1715 will require a NMEA cable pn 000-154-028. Connect the white GPS wire to the yellow radar wire and the blue GPS wire to the green radar wire.
