You probably have the sound settings wrong for either the device that is getting Netflix movie or the Samsung sound system. You might have even got both wrong!

Hi Mary It sounds like, to me, your centre (center!) speaker has become disconnected. In a 5.1 (or more) setup, the majority of voices come through this center channel - and without it, you'll hardly hear any voices, other than those which are not the 'focus' and are to either side. Have a look on your remote controller for a 'Test Tone' button, which should cycle through all the speakers and play a noise - you'll probably find 'center' is quiet. If it is, check the wires - should be a simple repair! Good luck :)

You may have a shorted speaker voice coil, the voice coil shorts above the volume setting you mentioned, try unplugging the speakers one at a time and see if the problem stops.

look for a small hole in front of the cd tray Bend open a paperclip. If you look closely, you'll almost certainly see a small hole in the drive's front panel. If there are two holes, and one looks like it's intended for plugging in headphones, it's the other hole. insert the paperclip into the hole and apply gentle pressure. The drive should pop slightly open. Gently pull the drive out. If it doesn't open gently, the disc is probably dislodged. Carefully try to maneuver the disc so that it's sitting where it should. If that won't work, try to find a way to remove the disc without ruining either the disc or the drive. If you continually have to use the paperclip trick, you've got a bad drive. Consider replacing it.

Your still going to need one even if you find a way! Try putting the model number of the Samsung into Google with the word remote after it. You might find a replacement is not too expensive.

It means "protect". It's possible that a speaker cable is touching or shorted out somehow. Check all wires and speakers for faults. Then try again. If it doesn't correct itself, it might have an internal short in the main amp.

That's the power supply board isn't it. Have you checked the main power amp board? For when the power board failed it might have taken out the main power amp with it!

Maybe try headphones settings instead of internal speakers and consider the sound bar as headphones. Some TV's may limit output to headphones as well but start there. Assuming you have a Samsung TV, look at your TV settings. You may have the sound level on auto. Next check to see if you are set for the external speakers, you might have to look in additional settings to find this. Should you have another brand of TV the concept is the same. so check settings for TV for external output.

what do you mean "went of nd"? Not knowing what that means, I will tell you that after many years of dealing with all sorts of electronics, the first thing to do in your situation is to unplug the unit or units, wait about 3-5 minutes, plug them back in and try to turn them on. Sometimes, things just need to "reset". On the other hand, it may do nothing, but that is the first step. I've run into this again and again with TiVo, and it works more often than not. Good luck.
