To do this;

From the Menu page touch - 'Where To' then 'My Locations'

Touch 'Favorites' then select the entry you want to delete.

Touch the 'Edit' button then on the Edit window select 'Delete' then select 'Yes'.

The entry is now deleted from the locations list.

might be battery issue, does it have a cable to connect to your computer? if it does see if it works

Hi, 673king, My Garmin is c330, but I think that all GPS's of this nature are programmed only for roads -- not bodies of water. I haven't updated my 2-yr.-old-Garmin yet for new maps, but what you describe concerning the red question mark is exactly what I get when I am on a road that was constructed after my Garmin was programmed. Since the GPS can't find the road in its memory, it merely has a red question mark until I get onto a road that the software recognizes. It then operates as usual.

Firmware updates are free. If you go to Garmin's web site and download WebUpdater, you can update the software on your unit for free. If you need Map updates, you have to purchase those.

TO GET 2009 MAP IS NOT EASY! Software update is, from the Garmin site you can update software easily BUT THE MAP... you must purchase for $69.99 OR if you're a technical person who knows the following instructions you can save some $$$

Use these instructions if you have downloaded it.

Download these first:
cgpsmapper.exe
gmaptool.exe
MapSetToolKit.exe
and MapSource where u can directly get from Garmin site

Create these folders on the root drive: (I will choose one to make things easier, you can change)
C:/grmtmp
C:/grmtmp/extract

Connect your GPS to USB, and BACKUP then remove
X:/Garmin/gmapprom.img and gmapprom.sum (may be gmapsupp.[img+sum]) approx. 1GB

1) Copy gmapsupp.img from this torrent to C:/grmtmp;
2) Extract gmaptool.exe, cgpsmapper.exe and mapsettoolkit.exe to C:/grmtmp/extract
3) Open a command prompt, and navigate to the extract folder ("cd/grmtmp/extract")
4) Run "gmaptool -S ../gmapsupp.img" Note that is -(CAPITAL S), lower case s is for different option
5) The above will extract files, you will get some warnings about 10 degrees. Ignore them.
6) Run "cgpsmapper mapset00.mp"
7) Run "MapSetToolKit"
8) In MapSetToolKit, press "Install A Existing Mapset"
8a) TDB File: "mapset00.tdb
8b) Overview map: "mapset00.img"
8c) Registry name: "WhateverYouWant" (I did "Grm2009.1Update")
8d) Leave TYP files blank, and hit "Install"
9) Close MapSetToolKit and run MapSource
10) Ignore any requests to unlock map, not ready yet.
11) Go to "Utilities-Get Unit ID" and Find Device with your GPS plugged in USB. Write down Unit ID.
12) Run Garmin Unlock Utility, Enter that Unit ID at the top.
13) Select under "Select Map Product"
14) Ender 396 for the FID/MapID, use the Generate button to get 25char code.
15) In MapSource go to "Utilities-Manage Map Products"
16) Go to "Unlock Regions" Tab, and hit "Add...", enter 25char code, comment optional
17) Now on the main MapSource screen, type 'm' to enable map tool.
18) You should see a large white rectangle, with rectangle outlines (these represent NA maps)
19) Click and drag to select them all, you can click "Map Set Name" if wanted.
20) Click the "Send to Device" button. Wait an hour. Enjoy.

and serial number off the sticker to unlock them

What are you trying to update, firmware or maps? Firmware updates ae free from Garmin. Just go to www.garmin.com and download the WebUpdater. If you are trying to update the maps, these are available for purchase in CD or SD card formats, also from Garmin or your local retailer. They should be approx. $70.

Sounds like a battery issue in the unit. Are you still under warranty? Also, test the lighter plug for continuity. Vehicles can sometimes blow single fuses that control only the cigarette lighters in the car, and therefore, leave any electronics kind of high-and-dry. So test the outlet first, and if it doesnt function, its probably a car fuse issue. If it does, then you're probably looking at either a wire fault in the plug, or a faulty battery in the GPS unit. For either of these problems, take the GPS in to the retailer, and see if they will work out an exchange or replacement.

connect your c330 to a computer using a USB cable and then go to www.garmin.com and register your device, you will be able to pick one of two choices. a 1 time update for 49.99 or lifetime updates for the life of the device for 89.99

depending on the model of streetpilot. The Streetpilot III has 6 AA batteries, 2600, 2700 & 2800 series have no internal batteries. the C300 and C500 series have an internal battery that is not easily replaceable.

Most likely needs a new battery. Plug it in with a usb cable and see if it charges..

Hold the power button on for about 30 seconds until the calibrate screen comes on

Have you tried resetting the unit?
