Hello, I have a problem

The low level format that you are using will identify the bad sectors and put an "X" on them so that no data ever gets stored there. Ergo no critical file(s) will ever be corrupted or not work and your machine should work good as new until the drive starts going bad again. The low level format always takes time especially on the large drives when it can sometimes take up the better part of a day. But it will restore the drive to an as new condition for no dinero. No brainer. However, I would not really trust the drive for long periods of time and if I continue to use it I can expect other bad sectors to develop. So it would be wise for you to on a monthly basis do a backup to prepare for the eventuality of the drive finally dying.

If you are troubleshooting a system or OS problem, you should not consider firmware updates until after exploring more typical troubleshooting steps like file system error checking and anti-virus scanning. try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule the task on restart then defragment your hard drive http://download.cnet.com/western-digital-disk-manager/3000-2122_4-10008018.html This file contains the most up-to-date Disk Manager drivers for Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.5.1. I`ve done a normal formate,

Double check your internal connections paying close attention to any wires that connect to the outer case. The intrusion detection in these is usually a wire attached to the cabinet that tells the Bios when the case has been opened. Reconnect the wires and reset the Bios by entering Bio and doing a save and exit, usually an F10 key press. That should resolve the issue. If the drive itself has a detection built into it there is something wrong with the drive unless you have opened it and that would be a bad thing either way.

In some cases an IDE connector is added to RAID Hard Drives or Industrial grade desktop computer drivers.. it's a backwards compatibility measure in case of failure. Other driver may also include an IDE power source too.. Those IDE connections are also known as (PATA) or Parallel.
