Hi John, Try to connect it with your friend's system/Laptop. If it works then there is some problem with your system. The drive is defective, replace it.

May be your files get damaged. Do not use External hard drive as only storage for files because it always happen.

Digital tvs are good at this. I had to buy a digital converter box to pick up over the air channels with a usb port on it, to play mine, you can pick up one on amazon for about 30 bucks. Make sure it has usb streaming port before you buy it!

The Western Digital Scorpio (WD2500BEVS) doesn't come with a driver, but I have an idea that perhaps you may have a pin setting wrong, making the drive not recongizeable. Here is the information on setting the pin on the back'


If that doesn't seem to solve the problem, then I'd run the WD Lifeguard software, that will detect any problems and correct them for you. You can find that software HERE.

looks like a ram problem ,or hard drive not detecting

Usually this is a hard drive problem. Try the drive in a different PC.
