Jensen DVD will not play dvds it say no signal and disc error.

It sounds that the optical pickup unit is faulty. Put a disc cleaning disc into the set, and play it once. If the fault is with dust or dirt, it will be cleared out. If not, replace the optical pickup unit.

My screen is all blue, no image and voice. a lock on the upper left corner

It sounds that your TV is locked by someway. Just unlock it. Proceed the following. Many Jensen TVs have a parental lock that can be set to stop children from watching certain television shows or channels. In order to activate or deactivate the controls, you have to know the four-digit code or parental lock passcode. If you forget the passcode or if the lock gets set accidentally, you can still unlock the TV. • Turn on the TV using the remote control. In most cases, you will need the original Jensen remote to unlock the TV if you aren't sure of the unlock code. You can purchase an original replacement online if necessary.

• Look at the screen. If you see a red key on the bottom of the screen, press "Function" and "Mute" on the remote at the same time. This will unlock the channel. Do this if you want to bypass the lock to watch a certain show or channel while leaving the TV locked. All other channels will remain locked and the TV will lock again when it is turned off.

• Unlock all of the channels on the TV by entering 0711 or 3308. These are the Jensen factory reset codes that will reset the TV to the original factory settings. By doing this, you will loose any information that you have stored in the TV, such as channel labels and schedules. You will have to program the TV again by going through the entire initial set up.

•Call the technical support service number in your owner's manual if neither of those codes work. A technician can help you troubleshoot the television as the problem may not be the parental lock feature. Have the model number and serial number of the TV available when you call. • Take your television to a TV repair shop if neither of the codes work and the TV locked by itself while it was turned on. In this case, the TV may need to be rewired.

My akai tv is locked, don't know the code

Most TVs have a parental control lock that can be set to prevent children from watching specific television shows. In order to activate or deactivate the controls, you need to know the four digit security code or parental lock control password. If you forget the number you chose or if the lock gets set accidentally, it is still possible to unlock the TV. Instructions

Turn on the TV and grab the remote. In most cases, you will need the original remote to unlock the TV if you aren't sure of the unlock code. If you don't have the original remote, you will need to purchase one.

Look at the screen. If you see a blank screen with a red key on the bottom of the screen, press 'Function' and 'Mute' at the same time. This should unlock the channel. This is an option for people who want the TV to stay locked but, want to be able to bypass the lock to watch a certain show or channel. All other channels will remain locked and the TV will fully lock when it is turned off.

Unlock all of the channels on the TV by entering the factory reset code. There are three main reset codes that TV manufacturers set. These are 0711, 6688 and 3308. Try each one until you find the one that works. This will reset the TV to original factory settings. When you do this, you will loose any information that you have stored in the TV, such as favorite channels, automatic timers and the clock. You will have to go through the full initial set up.

Call the technical support service number in your owner's manual if none of those codes work. A technician can help you troubleshoot the television because the problem may not be the locking control. When you call, make sure that you have the model number and serial number of the TV.

Take your television to a TV repair shop. In some cases, a professional who access to wiring diagrams for your television set may have to rewire certain components in order for the television to unlock. This is usually the case when the TV locks by itself while it is on.

I have a 27 inch Jansen TV. Remote is lost. I have

Hello
Three digit remote setup codes for Jensen TV are:
004/ 009
Four digit codes are:
0004 0009 0133 Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand
CODE SEARCH METHOD If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search. OK.

Hello,

First check that any muting control is not activated. This might be a button on the remote or set itself. If you have a headphone jack, it may have dirty contacts as plugging in a headphone usually mutes the speaker. If the set is mono or only one channel of a stereo set is out, then check for bad connections to the loudspeaker.

Test the loudspeaker by disconnecting one of the wires (with the power off!) and measuring its resistance with an ohmmeter (it should be less than 100 ohms - probably less than 8 ohms). Or momentarily touch a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker terminals - you should get a click or pop from the speaker.

Next, trace back from the speaker output terminals to the circuit board and look for bad solder connections or a loose or dirty connector.

If these tests do not reveal anything, you probably need a scope (or audio signal tracer) and schematic. Or at least the part number off of the chip. Is the final amp a chip also or just a transistor? Have you tested the transistor? If there is little or no buzz from the speaker, that would indicate a problem fairly near the output. If the tuner/if were bad, I would expect some noise/humm pickup from the low level audio stages. Get the part number off of the chip. If it is in a socket, check the contacts for corrosion or looseness.

When I plug the television

The ticking sound is coming from the set's power supply, and it means that something is shorted. A shorted horizontal output transistor is a common cause, but many other things can cause the trouble as well. Without the proper tools and service skills, there's nothing you can do to fix this yourself. If you want to keep the set, call a professional to come to you or take it to a shop. They'll be able to diagnose the cause and give you an estimate for repair, and then you can decide whether to fix this or start shopping for a new TV.

I have a Jensen TS2750J

Hi.

The setting on your tv for the best signal is the HRC setting.
HRC stands for High Resolution Cable.

If you connect the cable to the blue jack, and set your tv to HRC, when you scan for stations, it should pick up all of them, not just the analog cable stations.

Now, some cable companies require an additional adapter, provided by them, in order to recieve the cable signal properly.

This adapter is called a digital transport adapter.

You should contact the cable provider, and see if the adapter is required in order to recieve their signal properly.

I hope this helps you out.

Good luck to you, and have a good day.

I need to know what

With my APEX Television, this means that the parental settings have been changed so that the TV will not let me watch certain Television show or movie ratings. Just go into the Tv's menu and look for parental controls. This should require a password to change. I would either suggest passwords 0000 or 1234
(My parental settings were my father's birthday year, so try something like that)

Black box blocks out lower half of television

Check your closed-caption settings. If you have captions on and set to "text" mode, this can happen. The TV blanks out the area on the screen where the text should go, but there's nothing to display. Turn off captions or set for regular caption mode, and that should clear up the mysterious box.
