I did install my amp

Definitely check your wires, you don't want a short under the seats as it can also result in a fire. Also, if the amp is completely covered and there is no air circulation it will overheat and shut off. Make sure it's well ventilated.

I have a 1976 kenwood am fm stero receiver, the

A stereo or amp, either one should have a fuse, fuses for radios would be in the wiring harness behind the radio deck. An amp fuse should be obvious were they insert in the fuse blocks by the amps main power cable connector. If you see that all fuses are fine then check your ground wires if not then your radio is bad.

Check your ground. Make sure you sand off any paint where you grounded the amp. Also did you hook up the remote wire? It's the blue wire on the back of your headunit. Some say remote wire, others say power antenna either one will work. Sounds like one of the two...hope this helps.

Amp stopped working...

Has the amp been overheating lately? It's quite possible that the amp could have just blown. Smell around the outside of the amp for an electrical burnt smell. If available, see if a friend also has an amp hookup and try removing your amp and copnnecting to the friend's cables. That will tell you if it's a wiring problem or an amp problem.

Amp not getting sufficent voltage

Does the car start with the voltage dropping like that? Sounds like a bad battery. A battery can show 12.6 volts and as soon as you put a load to the battery the voltage will drop. I would change the battery and see if that helps. Also check your alternator. Get a DMM set to DC volts connect it to the battery and see how far the voltage drops when the cars running. You should see something like 14 volts or so. If it drops below 11 volts you may need to upgrade the "big 3" wires...hope this helps

I have a 1800 watt amp but the red light is on but

the red light is for power in protect mode it should be orange and it will not emmit sound if you think you should have better sounding bass or more bass you can try to play with the gains on the amp or possibly if you have the negative or positive hooked up wrong from a speaker to the amp this will cause the bass to be lower and somewhat distorted double check your positive and negative wires from the speaker to the amp and make sure they are correct
