Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Computers and Internet category. There are no mentions anywhere for that model or that error code, however all faults seem to be from accessories or devices that are plugged in via USB. yes you can.

Password protection on kenwood is very good, you might need to pick up another head unit. Also after inputing the pass code you need to hold the fast forward or skip button to activate the code. I am verry familiar with that head unit and I dont know of any end arounds to bypass the security code. Get ahold of the origional owner and get their passcode or replace the headunit.

I would try either an all 0, (ZERO) 1, or 9 code most have a default code for unlocking

try the sequence within that number starting with
0000 and so on

should be a light green wire.

run a switch to th neegativ and positive wires on the back of dvd playr this lets you watch movies while driving

a friend of mine who is into bypassing stuff...found this method from sumwhere and it worked on my system...
u need to reset the system first by pressing the small button right next to <ATT> using a ball point pen or something pointed... once it reboots, keep the <SRC> button pressed till the display goes off, then while keeping the <SRC> button pressed, press the <ATT> button for 3 seconds, while keeping both of these pressed at the same time, press the small <RESET> button next to the <ATT> button using something sharp... this hard resets the system and it reboots to a blank screen, press the <SRC> button once and you have all the options working...

I had the same problem. My unit would not eject CDs. I was able to fix it by hitting the reset button. That restarted the whole unit and reset all the settings as well, but now I'm not having any issues with ejecting CDs.

kenwoods have a problem that sometimes does happen . I have the kenwood KVT-717DVD and it does the same thing if the radio is too hot or cold it will put it self into protect mode, sometimes if u let the unit rest 4 a lil it will b fine other times u have to find the reset button and manually reset the unit

take it back to the factory

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION

If not then try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive

do you have the external CD Reader attached? it requires this to supply the map information for the GPS to work

you can try either pressing the reset switch or disconnect power to the radio for a few minutes.
