Kenwood KDC-319 CD Player - Page 3 Questions & Answers
I am having trouble getting power to my new cd
2 wires for power- one that is ALWAYS connected (remembers time, preset stations, etc.), and the other one you hook up to your ignition circuit (allows your radio to come on only when the key has been turned to ACC or RUN).
When you have wired this correctly, your radio will only come on when the ignition key is in ACC or RUN, and will ALSO remember the preset radio stations and the time, etc., when the key is turned off then back on again.
If you look at your fusebox, look for an ACC (accessory) junction that you can tap into. Also, don't forget that it's important to put a fuse in any wire you connect to a 12v+ source; don't rely on the fuse you are tapping into.
Hope this helps.

I think you will find that those outputs, SUB, CENTER, must go into an Amp that in turn you plug into, unless they are the ones with inbuilt amps. This depends on the output from your unit though. As to whether it would drive them or not.
It doesnt want to turn on and the cd is stuck
You can try opening it, but I this a job that is usually not for a consumer. Car stereos are not easy to work on. This is a mechanical problem. When the loading mechanism is stuck, the stereos electrical system shuts down to prevent overloading of circuits, and cause a possible fire. If you decide to open it, you may, but be very carefull of the mechanism. If one of the mechanical parts break, you can't get a replacement. part, and no shop will be able to fix it anymore.

A Security Code Bug in some Kenwoods
There
is a reported bug in the security code handling of some Kenwood
stereos. In models with thie bug, the security code is stored
incorrectly. The workaround is to enter the wrong security code.
In
models with this bug, you have to decrement the third character of the
security code by one. If your security code was 1111, you would enter
your security code as 1101. If your security code was 9999, you would
enter 9989.
