Take your Shaw remote control.
Press SETTINGS.
Use LEFT/RIGHT to highlight the "house".
Press OK.
Scroll-down to MESSAGES.
Press OK.
View a "message" from your cable-TV provider.
Click to DELETE the message.
The "red-light" will go out.

I was just reading another blog on this problem and it seems you must clear any recording setup you have for the program the go to the settings and in the history file delete all listings of it. This can take a while as you must delete them one at a time. Then you can reset the series or single recordings. Seems to work for some people. I am having the same problem and programs are disapearing one at a time. Good Luck

wrong mode!!!!!
put your remote back in cable mode and you will be back to normal.
usually up near top sometimes push "mode" then "cbl" sometimes just push "cable"

good description of problem, I can tell your a thinker.
99% sure this is your problem though

does it show the channel instead?

try going into menu then looking for something like set top display or something

with rcn i had to hit menu then menu again then accessories then set top clock

1st did you check line of sight? is something between the cable box and the remote?
2nd is your remote in the right mode? when you hit "channel up" does the cable light flash? if not try figuring out how to change modes
3rd code search directions may be on the battery cover of the universal remote.

I think the transformer for the dct6200 is in the cable box... thats why there is no "box" on the power cord...
sadley that means the damage may be in the cable box and much harder to replace than if the transformer had been on the cord.

can you call the cable company and have them replace them?
