Want 1400x1050 resolution

It depends on the monitor too, and the refresh rates it can support.. But it seems to me that 256 MB is rather skimpy. Try changing the resolution to 1200x800 first. If the monitor or screen can handle it and it remains stable and no hangups in games or other demanding programs then try to change to some other higher resolution. Before you make any hazardous step backup your computer or set a restore point. In case of trouble you will be able to load the last configuration that worked. Good Luck.

EVGA GeForce 6200 512 MB card + mouse pointer

sounds like yo had the same Problems that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the monitor cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is running with your card you can also see that from the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped install the driver first then disable download latest drivers here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us

I have a new geforce

Hello,

I am presuming that the mainboard is an Asus model with integrated VGA.

In order to perform the following steps you may have to remove your new VGA board and reconnect your monitor to the mainboard VGA in order to have a display on your monitor.

If your new VGA board is an AGP or PCI express, connecting your monitor to the new VGA board should have been detected and applied the VGA output through the new board. If the new VGA board is a PCI type then go to the new steps to make changes to your CMOS via the BIOS settings.

If not the Asus mainboard may have to have the CMOS setup change through your BIOS settings.

Upon bootup you should be able to hit the delte key and the BIOS screen should come one.
Scroll down to the a view that will show "Onboard Settings" or similar wording.
Select and disable the Asus onboard VGA or video.

If problem still persist, then go to the Assus.Com web site for support on your model Asus mainboard for the maunual, or trouble shooting questions on settings.

Good Luck

Trystrom -
It's possible that your video card is overheating, or broken. This can sometimes be fixed, but not always. If you are willing to spend a few dollars at a local computer/office supply store for a can of pressurized air, you can open your computer and use the pressurized air to forcefully blow all of the dust out of the video card cooling fan. Dust buildup frequently causes overheating in older cards, like you GeForce 6200.
Also, you will want to use the real canned air product. A vacuum seems like it would work, but creates dangerous static electricity that can fry the fragile electrical systems in your computer.
Good luck!

Check if the power supply can handle the power needs of that card in addition to the hardware it already powers.

I have an EVGA 6200 in an HP P4HT...it is working

you have an nvidia based card. there should be nvidia control panel with those drivers, if not download it. to find out just right click an empty portion of your desktop. then look for nvidia control panel. if it is there just start it. then on the left side of the control panel look for display and click the subcategory set up multiple displays. this will give you a window that shows both of your displays. just uncheck the clone displays. this will allow you to configure them independently.

How do i install geforce 6200

Hello! You must first shutdown your computer. Open your cpu and connect the video card on the agp slot of the motherboard. Make sure it is properly seated. Return back the cover of the casing. Connect the vga cable of your monitor to the vga connector of the video card. turn on the computer. The operating system will automatic read the new found hardware. Now try to download the driver of the video card this will give the video card its properties to change its resolution sizes and graphics output. The download site can be found here, just enter the code you see from the image and click download.

Hi, I have an EVGA GeForce 6200 AGP, 256MB DDR2

This is a common problem, you need to clear the CMOS which will also reset the BIOS settings. Here's a few ways you can do that:

this is probably your screen refresh rate is too high.try booting the computer in vga mode and lower your default screen refresh rate.if it fails try with a older driver. the problem might be due to overheating. try cleaning your cabinet and install a new heatsink and apply new thermal paste on your vram chips.
