Panasonic CQ-C1100U CD Player Questions & Answers
How do I wire external amplifier
In order for this to work correctly you need:
- Power wire (with fuse) from battery to amp (+)
- Ground wire from amp to car chassis. (-)
- remote-on lead from a 12V power source that turns on and off with the ignition if the head unit does not supply a wire. (switch)
- RCA connection from head unit to the amp. (sound in)
- Speaker wire connection from amp to speakers. (sound out)
It is easiest to start with deciding on the amp mounting location, and then running all the wires. Add an extra foot or so to each wire. You may discover in the process that you have to move things around due to unforeseen obstacles. This extra foot will help in that case. Always attach the ground wire to the chassis first and then to the amp first. Once you have the fused power wire from the battery installed; remove the fuse before trying to attach it to the amp. ONLY re-install the fuse once all connections to the amp are made, secure, have been checked twice and you're ready to test it.. This includes speakers. DO NOT for ANY reason have the amp powered up before attaching ALL speaker connections.

It's dead
Make sure all your wires from the radio to the car are connected and check both the fuse on the radio and the one in the car. Is there anything else in the car that turned off?

Loss of memory when remove the face
Your wire connection is incorrect. Make sure that the yellow wire comming out of the radio connects to a yellow wire from the car and that the red one connects to a red one. Also make sure the radio is grounded properly.

Panasonic CQ C1100U amp output?
Hello,
Yes, the Panasonic CQ-C1100U can be connected to a 2-channel amp. It has a single set of preamp outputs. I'm attaching an image of the connection shown in the Panasonic user manual. The appropriate connection is the one without the dashed line. The dashed line showing a 2nd set of outputs only applies to the 1110, 1120, and 1200 models.
Hope this helps. If it does, please rate as "FixYa". Thanks!

When i put the radio on mute i hear bass sometimes
If you unplug the RCA's (Jack wires) and the noise goes away - your problem is induced noise. Eminating from a Engine Computer, bad amplifier or radio grounding point or close proximity to power wires in the vehicle. The only fix is to re-route the RCA wire.
If the problem persists when disconnecting the RCA's the problem is the ground loop filter (or lack thereof) in the amplifier or a bad grounding point.
Make sure your grounding point for the amplifier is bare metal (sanded off paint) and on the vehicle chassis - not a interior support bracket.
Troubleshooting noise in an audio system can be tedious.

Stereo Sound
You could start by adjusting the Treble and Bass. The treble is what makes the high notes more nodicable, so if you turn the Treble up you should be able to hear more vocals. The Bass is what makes the low notes more nodicable, so if you turn the bass down you should be able to stop the shaking which I'm guessing is the low notes. On the other hand if you have an aftermarket radio then there might be a Mute or ATT button. Theses are for instant quiet, just repress the Mute or ATT button and it should be fine. I hope I could help.

Panasonic CQ-FN46E0GX No Sound
Hi Greg, I'd say you have a bad audio output IC, generally this will take out the fusable resistor that feeds the output stage, you should be able to find a part number on the IC, do a pin out and check between B+ and ground pins with it in circuit and see if you see a short. I don't know if you can find a service manual for it but hopefully you wouldn't need one
