@blackcharger Great tip/advice. My issue was with the other connector (mini hdmi, I think). I was on holiday without any tools so ended up using a metal nail file to discover the shorting problem. Nail file and t-shirt cleaned the connector enough to get camera working. Have now folded a few layers of clingfilm / plastic wrap and added that as a bit of an extra seal to the door's own rubber seal. Thanks!

Dear Mike,sorry to tell u that I have the same problem. All I try failed already . Send to olympus but all they say is that they have to make a software reset by profesionals and it cost 152,00 Euro. That is a really basd service, no more olympus. the problem should be known.peter

To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Hi there,Well you got this error because you forcefully eject the card, if you still get this error message after inserting card to your camera then you need to check your card. First of all check your data card by a computer you need a card reader to check this card, if this card also not working on computer then you have to format it and it solve your problem.Note: formating the card will erase all the data from your card.Hope it helps..Good LuckRegards

Although this was listed two months ago, there still might be a chance. But try not to take more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones. For your case, recommend PhotoRec or MiniTool listed in the above article. Also consider the "corrupted card procedures" listed in the article.

Here is what I found on my Stylus 6020. I have the same problem. In the card reader, there are about 9 fine wire contacts sticking up that brush against the SD card when inserted. By shinning light into the empty SD slot, I found two contacts in the middle are either pushed all the way down or have broken off thus causing a card read error. Only 7 or the nine contacts are touching the SD Card. I do not have a solution for this problem other than warranty. This camera is fairly new and has incurred no damage.

call olympus customer service.. get you a new camera.. after twice in repair, it should of already been done

How deep did you take the camera? The manufacturer website states: WATERPROOF (16FT.). A revolutionary system of waterproof seals and gaskets keeps water out so you can take pictures as deep as 16 feet underwater.If it was deeper than that, the gaskets probably let water in due to the pressure of being underwater. (Basically it means the camera let water in and as such probably will not work right again)

Unfortunatly the Olympus 6020 does not hav a dedicated hardreset switch, nor a key sequence to initiate reset. So if you cant get into the camera menu, and reset the camera from there. Or if that does not work. The camera has to be serviced by proffesionals.

Get a quote some cameras cost more to repair then to replace.
