LT? so HP does drop support in10 years, they even say that. the BUG battery main is long ago bad and shorted, keep the battery out for ever, or buy a new one. end big battery facts, keep it out. now run on AC ? power ok, only (wall power!) then get a new coin cell battery HP RTC stated in the service manual . the manual to do that is missing now. HP is trimming off line books on this pc.as we type. 2008 is the worst year for any laptop, the solder ball years from hell. but if the PC runs ok mostly (you never once said tHAT) The its not bad nvida chip inside. HP laptop appear error message during the booting such as wireless 701, coms, keyboard LED blink, shutdown etc. you may try to update newly bios version first. it could be fix: 1) download new version bios at HP support, 2) run its for windows version at laptop windows if laptop booting in windows well 3) run its DOS version at winpe which boot at DVD if laptop could not come in windows itself. if it is not fix, it is could be SB bridge issue, at most AMD SB+NB bridge.

HP laptops have poor backup system, if we do change in partition we can not recover it to factory setting by factory made backups...so if u have made any change in ur partition then u are in trouble..try installing new windows with ur original cd key or visit customer care center....:)

Does the Windows Installation complete and have you tried skipping when it asks for them? Also make sure your install disc hasn't got a big thumb print or scratch on it.

No screen maybe you had a bad MBR boot problem.You will need to reinstall it.
