P007 indicates that a document has jammed before exiting the registration post sensor. Make sure the path is clear and no staples are stuck in the rollers. I like to use a microfiber cloth, with a small amount of 50/50 alcohol on it, to wipe down the entire feed path; top and bottom. The microfiber cloth will grab staples that may be wedged between the rollers/roller openings. Beyond that, it could be a timing issue from a bad/loose drive belt. Actually, there are quite a few things that could cause a paper jam before exiting the post registration sensor. Wipe it down and let me know.
Scan-R-Store
It sounds like you diagnosed it.
The tray "paper detect sensor" thinks it has paper in it, and if it doesn't have paper in it...there's a problem with the sensor.
Take the tray off and inspect the sensor. Blow out around the sensor and it's PCB and make sure it is not out of position. Check the sensor lens for anything blocking it, and retest. If it still shows always on, then replace the sensor. Press the "count only" button to illuminate it, and press the "start" button. If the scanner works properly (tray lifts, pulls paper through the scanner, and counts it)...well then you have software or connectivity issue.
Hope that helps,

There are a set of gears that convert motor rotation into lifting of the tray. Check if the gears are aligned properly. Any stapler pin jammed inside can stop the gear, while the motor pushes it forward. This will create noise. Very unlikely that these motors fail. Also clean the paper sensor in the tray.

I havent faced this problem. Try default option initially then try your settings. If this does not work, uninstall CP3 and reinstall it.

I hope there is enough hard disk space is available in the drive/volume you are attempting to send the data. Scan in TIF compressed mode, uncompressed made uses large space.Check if there is virus on your system. Uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Run scandisk to optimise disk performance.S. Mohan
Troubleshoot this issue step by step:
Check the Feed Selection Lever:
Ensure that the Feed Selection Lever (located on the lower left side of the front of the scanner) is in the correct position (up) for separation.
Straighten the edges of the stack of documents to be scanned.
Set the document guides so they are wider than the document to be scanned.
Place the documents face up into the feed tray, ensuring they touch the document stoppers.
Clear Any Jammed Paper:
Be careful when removing jammed paper to avoid cuts.
Remove any documents that have been left in the eject tray.
Close the document eject tray.
If the document ejection is stopped partway, perform this operation with the document eject tray extension open.
Hold the upper unit as shown in the diagram and open it to the point where you can remove the jammed document. The pickup roller is located in the middle of the upper unit. Do not hold the protrusion on the upper unit when opening it, as it may deform the pickup roller or cause a feeding error.
Close the feeder cover.
If the jam occurred in the feed section, pull the document out carefully without applying too much force. Be sure to remove any torn parts remaining in the scanner.
Close the upper unit slowly, ensuring it clicks into place. Do not force it to close, as this may damage the scanner.
After removing the jammed paper, check if the last page was scanned, and then continue scanning.
Rapid Recover System:
If a paper jam occurs when the "Rapid Recover System" is enabled in the ISIS/TWAIN driver settings, the image of the document is not saved, and scanning stops. You can continue scanning from the document that caused the paper jam after fixing the issue.
Additional Considerations:
Make sure the pickup rollers retract when the machine is powered on.
Check that the stopper plates are in the down position.
Verify that the upper unit is completely closed after clearing the jam.
Remember to handle the scanner components carefully to avoid damage. If the issue persists, consider seeking professional assistance or contacting Canon support for further guidance
I would use a soft toothbrush and a little Isopropyl Alcohol and then a lint free cloth and then give another gentle brush. There are some other ideas here. Take no notice of the answer by 'Marvin' on Fixya about dropping the head in boiling water, I think he thinks he is dealing with a colour inkjet printer.

If your Canon iPF605 printer won't enter service mode and gets stuck at the "S" symbol without initializing, it may indicate a firmware or hardware issue. Consider updating the firmware or contacting Canon support for further assistance.
You mentioned that you have already replaced the Laser Unit, but the error persists. Here are a few more steps you can try:
Check the cable: Ensure that the cable connected to the Laser Scanner Unit is properly attached and not damaged.
Replace the DC Controller PCB (PCB4): If the error still persists after checking the cable and replacing the Laser Scanner Unit, you might need to replace the DC Controller PCB (PCB4)

Question edited for clarity and add CAPS.
Is there a paper roll in it? I have seen them do this as the calculator is trying to feed the roll edge. You can turn printing off, but most need a roll in place. There is a repair video for a similar machine.

The E732-001 error on a Canon iR 3225 indicates an issue with the fixing assembly temperature. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this error:
Reset the Condition:
Enter service mode by pressing the following sequence on the control panel: COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR > ERR.
This will reset the error condition. If the message disappears, your printer is ready to use. If this doesn't work, there may be a hardware problem as addressed below.
Replace the Main Thermistor:
The main thermistor is responsible for temperature sensing. If it's faulty, it can trigger the E732-001 error.
Consider replacing the main thermistor to resolve the issue.
Check the DC Controller PCB:
If the problem persists, inspect the DC controller PCB for any defects or malfunctions.
Replacing the DC controller PCB may be necessary.
Remember to turn off the printer before performing any maintenance tasks. If the error persists or if you need further assistance, I recommend contacting your local authorized Canon dealer or the Canon Customer Support Center for professional service
