Most of the time when this happens it is the ysus board, that noise you heard was a capacitor popping. Another board runs about $175 and thats if you do it your self. A shop will most likely charge around 500-600, hope this helps, you could also try contacting panasonic and trying to get past the tech and onto casemanagement where you might get somewhere with an out of warranty fix.

Replace the hdmi cable. I've stepped on an hdmi cable and broke something internally and had similar issues.

This is a combination of the mainboard and y-sus and x-sus. Plasmas are very difficult to repair because of the cost involved. I would try and part out what you can and get an lcd with led backlighting. The led backlit tv will be way more efficient and you'll enjoy a nice picture.


I wish I could be better help in fixing it, but I've attempted repair of 100 plasmas with only 10 successful attempts!
